Figured you might be ;-) After this morning's hiccups the Linode server is purring like a l'il kitten so i think it'll easily address our future needs.. It's cheaper, too.

That may well be the case.. it's such a minor hardware upgrade that you'd hope the cost wouldn't be too high. However, with the relatively compressed mobile market in Australia, you can bet the price probably _will_ be that high :/

Depends what you need from your phone. I need reception and fast data _everywhere_, so Next G gives me that 99.9% of the time. SO for me, that extra cost would be totally worth it.

Yes make sure that you have GPRS enabled.. apparently this isn't the default? Check the online control panel thing, or call them.

We have a prepaid Vodafone SIM, but unfortunately we're not in a position to sign up to a contract to test out network specific apps like this :) Appreciate that we can't really test much without a Vodafone account to test with, but we did what we could. I did fire the app up on the Desire HD, and it worked as advertised - I plugged in my friends Vodafone account details briefly so I could verify it would load details from a postpaid account - and it worked, but I didn't want to post screenshots from it.

Fairly sure it won't have bloatware on it - it's a google experience handset so it's likely to be vanilla Android 2.3. Failing that, you can just unlock the bootloader and load your own rom on it anyway, or root it and remove any bloatware.

Nope. RC2 is the latest. They're in feature-freeze now, just ironing out bugs. Doubt we'll see an RC3 on CM7.0 .. though I suspect work on 7.1 will not be far behind :)
