One of the men, identified as Tauseef, was a friend of Faisal Shahzad, the American citizen of Pakistani origin who is in custody in the United States over the failed attack, one official said. He was arrested in the southern city of Karachi, said the official, who like all Pakistani spies refused to be named in the media.

What does that last sentence mean? Who refused to be named? The official? Is the official a Pakistani spy?

I don't smoke, but people I know who do who and live in bad areas say that they just never smoke on the streets, period. They say it attracts druggies who think you are a chain smoking tweaker who is holding.

If he led them to Amber's remains from Day One then he would have been charged in her murder by now. So I am certain that he never admitted to Amber's murder before today's plea.

I read that someone else led them to the remains. Someone who knew something but came forward only after Gardner was arrested.

I don't think so. People who commit sex crimes or other notorious, unsavory crimes end up in the general population all the time, and they get into trouble when someone discovers their paperwork or they are somehow recognized.

Anyone may also request protective custody but even that doesn't necessarily mean solitary.

In CA prisons, solitary is the end of the line for people so notorious they not only cannot get along elsewhere, but also cause trouble.

Westerfield, and Scott Peterson are on death row, completely isolated. Although I have heard that other than the fact that they are awaiting execution, death row is the cushiest of the solitary confinements.

Gardner isn't going to do his entire time in solitary, although yes he probably won't be mainline for a long time, if ever. Not so much because he is a teenager rapist, but because he is a high profile, KNOWN teenage rapist.
