I was not referring to historical facts of the war because I have noticed there is no point trying to have such conversation due to the fact everyone has their own facts they rely on and it just turns into a push and shove conversations. Therefore I will not get into responding to your opinion on who was more victimised. As I said I’m not arguing who is the bigger victim. I am referring to the trial as such.
I am not disagreeing with anyone about the fact that a trial should take place and that the questions of accountability needs to be answered. I am arguing the credibility of this judgement particularly. It would appear that the Gotovina case has served as a proxy trial due to the fact that key political leaders all died before having faced the court. I am arguing the charge that Gotovina received for the acts he was charged for is completely disproportionate if you compare to the ICTY’s previous case law.
The legitimacy of the ICTY is questionable but their statute is to international humanitarian law standards and should be applied as such as far as possible. I am personally surprised at its shortcomings in this case particularly as it stands out more so than in other situations.
As for your other comment, that you said yourself you were hoping would affect them personally, you are entitles to your opinion, I was just referring to the fact that there is no need to get personal or unpleasant. But as I see, from the first line of your reply to my comment and your other comments, that seems to be the only way you know how to communicate your opinion.
