I thought it was interesting that your "long-tail" analysis indicates that 20% of the apps capture 80% of the revenue. Coincidence or not, this maps almost exactly to the well known 80-20 principle that states that "20 percent of something always is responsible for 80 percent of the results." This is also known as the Pareto principle named after the Italian economist of the same name. Using this metric then, the iphone app market, despite Apple's exceptionalism, tends not to deviate from market norms much and thus is as good a candidate as any for a developer's attention. Caveat Developer :)

Re: Goodbye Martin

I wasn't quite sure what to make of Martin at first. He was enigmatic, hyper-connected to the point of straining credulity but ultimately genuine, interested and real. He was introduced to me by a good friend and we had a "meeting" while walking from Grand Central to 34th & 10th last October. We agreed to stay in touch, he snapped my pic for his flickrstream and off he went. I can't say i knew him well but i miss him already...RIP and safe cosmic travels.

Re: Startupi: temos número suficiente de empreendimentos web relevantes?

Hey there Diego!
É tudo verdade, esgotamos o estoque de startups relvantes e estamos refazendo o business plan:)
I'm probably not the first gringo to ficar "smaravilhado" by Brasil but hopefully things will go better than for Orson Welles! At least now he has a cool documentary festival named after his ill-fated adventures: www.itsalltrue.com.br
Let me see, I think the term in Portuguese is "puxão de orelha?" Desafio aceito!
Michael
