Ahahahah! I knew it! I've long speculated on the La Camilla/La Carmina connection. I feel culturally justified. And oddly enough, I was struck by the urge to watch "Crucified" first thing this morning.

I imagine some people will find this advice immodest, but honestly, teens, please realize this is EXACTLY right! (Now, obviously, don't sneak off places if your academics are failing, but otherwise...!) Students accept what's given to them ALL THE TIME, they never even know fighting is an option, and it breaks my heart. I started college at 16 because I refused to go through the system when I knew better academics were out there -- and it's not even difficult, just so non-traditional that most won't even consider it!

Also, students, follow La Carmina's example: don't be afraid to self-promote and tell the world how awesome you really are! If you're shy or overly humble, get one of your edgier friends to proof any essays! :D

Oh goodness, I really ought to update my Flickr or something soon -- this is a topic near and dear to my heart, as I've been poofing my hair into ridiculous Rococo-tradgoth styles lately; brown and pink and fluffy!

I have natural thick curls, so the combination of that with the texture my hair has from the constant coloring give me an amazing poof! (I'm not trying to brag -- my poor straight-haired friend works in hairpieces to get what my hair gives me. Okay, maybe I'm bragging a little. But hey, when you've got it, flaunt it, right?)

I find that mixing in some purple (particularly certain Special Effects blues and purples) kept it a lot less murky looking -- purple tends to fade to pink, which... blends better. If you love blue, go for it!

Ooooo! I keep wanting to comment about my favorite products -- Divine Intervention (from the Gothic Lolita collection) is the most gorgeous color, ever. I've tried lots of Aromaleigh (and other things), but that particular shadow is the most gorgeous olive-greeny-gold... and I own an entire drawer of those shades! Mmm. Two of my favorite gothic product lines, though; how is one supposed to simply choose one favorite?

(I also embedded the video and promoted this contest; I hope my friends enter! I know a lot of Aromaleigh and Gloomth junkies already!)

My ghostly-pale friends agree with the pale skin recommendation! That's honestly one thing I'd love to see -- another GL finishing powder for darker tones. (I've heard Metamorphosis is supposed to be basically an all-skintone translucent powder, but being VERY olive, I haven't been brave enough to try it...) I don't use foundation, only finishing powder; I understand her foundations come in a wide range of shades.

Those particular shadows, though, are absolutely gorgeous on me (and everyone I've seen wearing them).

Oh! Of all the recent interesting events, THIS is the one I truly regret missing. I love museums perhaps even more than clubs. An entire gothic fashion exhibit is almost too much to bear; I can only hope they publish a nice photobook to go with it. Seeing everyone's snapshots is a good vicarious substitution, though!

I'm casting my vote for super KAWAII!!!! The cicada-hair is the most uniquely adorable thing I've seen in a long time! Eeee! I've always loved bugs (I've had pet cockaroaches and pillbugs) and find cicada shells so delicate and fascinating... I love this! Particularly with brown hair -- it looks so cute.

Now I'm wondering if there's a way to spray shellac on a cicada shell to make it somewhat more durable for wear. Hmmmm...

Mmm, I'm one of those goths who abhors wearing any non-black clothing, but that's part of my thought-out style concept; I don't like anything vying for attention against my pink hair. (Well, that and the fact I'm too clumsy for most light colors...) Alas, I've severely reduced the gothic purple aspect of my wardrobe, as too much pink-and-purple ends up looking rather like a My Little Pony, imho. ;)

I certainly adore colors in my gothic friends' wardrobes. I know some consider it a wretched cliche, but I still adore black with white gothic lolita style for myself. I love the Vogs!
