The Jockey Club

Oh, wow, Kathleen, beautiful pictures and nice story about yesterday at Los Al. Your customary hat gave away who you might be, so I approached. During this year's Breeders' Cup weekend, thought I read something about your engagement to be married but completely forgot to ask about it after meeting you. Maybe fearing the pretty cat might run onto the track caused a distraction. Special prayers for you and your husband as a new life together begins forever. This news is happy, happy and more happy. Again, congratulations on your marriage. Best wishes always, Mark and Anita.

Re: Chrome Diaries: An Amazing Ride - America's Best Racing. Bill Dwyer of LA Times tells what happens when a 1%er (California Chrome) gives back to the community. If a decision is made to romp Chrome during holiday season, please consider notifying fans. If it works for Chrome it can work for Los Al and would be great for us, I feel. Thank you, Kathleen, for making us important and keeping fans in the race with daily insight. Your work and enthusiasm is a welcome gift. Christmas joy to all.

Re: Chrome Diaries: A Family Affair - America's Best Racing. Bundled up people were riding horses before the sun got up. I saw California Chrome come to work alone. He stood patiently like a pleasure horse before getting on grass. Then off he went without a hitch. Jockey Gary Stevens and a group of men watched from the stands and immediately exited when Chrome came to a stop. Right behind them came scads of dogs, children, parents, grandparents and whoever. Let the games begin. Driving on the freeway at four in the morning can be a wonderful thing. What a fortunate being I am to experience life as it comes. I am so thankful and blessed to have what I have and being able to enjoy California Chrome and his Team. Happy Thanksgiving.

Re: Chrome Diaries: Calm Before the Storm - America's Best Racing. Loved the story and pictures. The beauty of a peaceful dawn is nicely captured. Chrome looks happy. Thanks.

Re: Opinion: Lessons From The Massachusetts Election

Thank you for your writing.

Many problems we face are anything but new. Some go back as far back as the story of Cain and Abel in the Old Testament.

Our problem isn't politics; it's philosophy. Political solutions will not fix philosophical problems.

The "creed of greed" is a philosophical issue and not a political issue. Pick the political party you favor. The bumper sticker attached to the traveling motor home reads, "I'm spending my children's inheritence," tells me all I need to know.

The sticker tells me nothing about politics buts speaks volumes about philosophy. The sign doesn't care about whether you are one or the other in a political camp.

The philosophy of secularism and relativism tightly grips our world. Yet we dress up the real problem by clothing it in prattle like "Scott Brown" or "Martha Coakley."

Interest in the fate of the common good is out the window. Our moral compass is lost. The mantra is, "He who dies with the most toys, wins."

The good news is the stock market's recovery has made my IRA investments whole. The bankers are reported to be being paid in the custom they have come to expect and deserve. Woohoo!

"It's all good!" Let's party on, bros!

Re: Don't Let A Bad Attitude Make You Miss Out

Great, great article. Know what in the world you are doing. 2. Follow the law and don't take short cuts.

On another note, what do you mean by the "Sarah Palin" effect?
