My advice is: find a Facebook group for the same class of parents at the same college or university that your kid(s) are at. If there doesn't exist a group just for parents of that particular class, start one. Belonging to the one that I do has been, and continues to be, a wonderful way to connect with others going through similar feelings. (And it's also a great way to share tips and info that helps our students navigate university life.)

Re: A missed industry prediction

Please add Cathie Tierney, CEO of $2b Community First CU in WI to the list of CU CEOs who have had VP Marketing on their resume.

Re: Best Free Saturation VST/AU Plugins

Nick Crow Labs' Tube Driver is incredible sounding, flexible, and free.
http://nickcrowlab.blogspot...

Re: Showalter on whether Matusz goes on DL: "There’s that possibility with him"

372 comments so far, and no one picked up on the most hilarious typo that the wonderful Masn_Roch has supplied us with to date:

"As for today's game, Joe Mauer hit a wind-blown two-run home run to left field off Mike Wright in the bottom of the first baseman."

That is so funny, I hope Roch doesn't go back and fix it.

Re: What’s left, what’s happening tonight and Brad Brach’s contributions

On the MLB Network last night, they flashed a graphic showing that Brach has thrown the third most pitches (1200-something) of all relievers in the major leagues this season.

Re: Requiem for a little league coach …

Terrific post. Wonderful that you are appreciating and having fun with the sheer joy of the sport at this age. I wrapped up coaching my son from t-ball through 9th grade baseball last year; this article is a wonderful tribute to baseball coaches everywhere. It's a cliche to say that it goes by so fast, but it really does. Every season, every variant of the team, is precious in its own right. One slight suggestion would be to alter the title to "Requiem from a little league coach"

Re: Orioles and Mets lineups

yeah, what's the deal? I don't think Buck will let a pitcher bat in that situation, but maybe he would. If Buck doesn't want to have a pitcher bat, and we have an injury iat 3B, SS, or 2B, then the only other options are pretty crazy. Pearce comes in to play 1B, Davis can play 3B, then Machado moves over to short if Cabrera or Navarro get hurt.... it all seems very un-Buck like.

Re: Orioles lineup vs. Yankees

With that defensive alignment, I expect no baseballs to harm a single blade of outfield grass when the Yanks are batting.

Re: Verrett claimed off waivers by Rangers

Read what Roch wrote more closely. Indeed, there is no way the O's can afford what he'll get on the FA market, esp with Boras as agent. Yep, this is the last year we get to have Wietey. I view this year as the last year of the core team that blasted their way onto the radar screen in '12. But we'll continue to roll new parts into the team as they fit. That's just the way it works in baseball today.

Re: De Aza’s importance growing in quiet offseason

When the O's acquired De Aza last year, I too, was in the "why are we getting him? We don't need yet another outfielder?" But with the departure of Nick (surprise) and Cruz (no surprise), it was a terrific move. I expect very big things from De Aza in 2015. He needs to be a spark plug for the team, with OBP, wheels, a great glove, and occasional power. He can be all that for this team this season.

Re: Orioles’ interest in Rasmus is real

I don't often read Roch's peanut gallery, but when I do, it's as Guest, and I like all the thoughtful comments. >raises hand<

Re: Miguel Gonzalez had another solid year and people may finally be noticing

El Mariachi is superb!
