I would say that having a local partner, like you have done in Indonesia is also key. No amount of research can make you good enough to be a local when it comes to cultural, customer experience and connections.

Sorry I missed this one....

My priority is better entrepreneurs. That should help increase the chance of the business being a success but if it doesn't, then they will go again and succeed.

As above I am going for total success, but it is completely defined by the person.

All people are successful in living the life they are living. It depends on what things they do to create their life.

What will actually make them more innovative?

a) Hire innovative people, incentivise them properly and give them room to be innovative.
b) Create sub brands to be innovative that can take more risks.
c) Hire Pollenizer to teach them Startup Science :-)

I don't think so but hard to be objective. I'm talking tech companies so digital is my core but muru-D has had a lot of female founders and a lot of different cultures.

I was dialing into a Lynx browser on a 9600 baud modem. I already loved tech but I was hooked.

My first tech was programming BASIC on commodore 64.

Teams, leadership, training, preparation, competition, goals.

I loved my basketball and soccer and now surf for fun. I played state league basketball and had a great team and coach and it taught me respect for the process.

My coach was also a hard arse who made me better even though it hurt. I keep looking for that.

It's so important and the base is so bad. I'm also an old(ish), white, male so it's hard for me to be fully aware of my own biasses.

In the 90's what I saw and worked with was all blokes in rooms coding and due to the long term nature of tech companies what we have now in the experienced parts of the ecosystem is mostly blokes - though there are amazing people from all cultures, genders.

I actually think we are doing a lot of the right things and we need a combination of impatience for action but patience for results. We are not just changing an industry we are changing a world culture which has formed over 10,000 years. That's a bad excuse but a reality.

So more work and some patience. For me, I really really really want to do better and appreciate everyone helping me.

I respect Angelpad, YC, Techstars and 500 but I'm not sure I'd leave to do them.

I like the challenge of the Australian structure and I love Australia...

Doing Startmate full time would be fun but I'd prefer to do that as an investor.

I loved Pollenizer's deep commitment to every business but that was emotionally draining.

My defintions:

Incubator - which I describe as major commitment to growing a small number of early stage businesses

Accelerator - which I describe as minor commiment to growing a large number of early stage businesses.

Incubators are more rewarding but sort of half way to just running one company.

Accelerators are more fun but the brainswitching is hard.

I wish muru-D would start building more tools and processes and less seat of pants (which we are doing).

I wish Pollenizer would push for born global more. (which is hard)
