I currently use meebo (www.meebo.com).

Another thing that hit me as I stared at the continuous lines is that IM clients "eat up" leading and consecutive spaces, much like HTML.

So, in order for it to function properly, all MOO-text would have to be "processed":
- replacing every space in the first column with
- replacing 1 in every 2 consecutive spaces with

As for the line breaks, maybe replacing \n with
might do the trick...? ~:?

Although it has one tiny bug: the text *is*

, but it lost *all* line breaks, so it's worse than not having a fixed-width font. ~:D

Shouldn't  keep them inherently? (assuming there *are* line breaks in the input text) ~:?

Hum... regardless of the IM client I use (MSN Messenger, meebo, Trillian, etc.), I get to see other people's choice of font (size, colour, type face), so it's something that's being *sent* on their side.

Can't Rasputine emulate that specific feature of IM clients which defines the font type face? ~:D

Oh, and change the font used by moosaico@rasputine to some fixed-width type font (Lucida Console, Courier, etc.)
