I disagree.
The objective might be being happy.
However, the means to be happy rely on suffering.
So this "God almighty who created us", also created suffering, so Humans know what the opposite of it is, and pursue it (the opposite, of course). If happiness only was to exist, Man wouldn't have choice, there wouldn't be neither god nor bad, we would be hopelessly running towards some pre-written destiny... and there goes randomness down the drain.
I tend to believe that someway along the creation either He ran out of time, or out of patience, to actually create that opposite: happiness (or at least make it tangible!)
So I guess we're stuck with pursuing it.

I think I would quite manage "regular" english: the one that it doesn't look like you're talking with your mouth full, or watching an episode of The Black Adder, or back to the end of the XVI century in Stratford-upon-Avon.
However, if you would bother to translate it into portuguese, it would be great! :D
