I think it really does depend on why you're doing it. Some people want to turn it into a source of income, and bully for them for being able to realize their dreams when it works out. I'm more in your boat: I like to write about what I'm up to and share stories, recipes, photos and such with friends and family. That said, I have made a few blog-friends over the years, and occasionally get myself thinking that I need to work harder and become more popular (yikes!). But then I get back to what I really want out of the whole experience and realize I'm really pretty happy with what I've been doing.

By the way, I read your blog all the time. I'm not a big commenter, but you're in my Google Reader and I do read each new entry. Thanks for doing your thing!

I recently came across a recipe on Tasty Kitchen for bacon garlic bread. I told my husband and he was nearly angry that no one has ever told him about this divine creation in his 32 years of existence! :)

I read in Google Reader too, and click over if I have a comment, so the main page is a nice surprise, but not a necessity. I enjoy reading about how other people live, so any stories are interesting to me, really.

It was a sad time for me when movie theaters inexplicably stopped carrying Junior Mints. But the sun is shining again and Junior Mints are back on the shelves! My husband and I used to get Junior Mints and a cherry Slurpee back in college, and freeze the mints in our mouths. So good!

So as I tweeted to you, I made the hibiscus cocktails and they were so very cool! I bought the flowers at Beverages & More, though the website says you can get them at Whole Foods and a few other places too. The flowers tasted great, and the cocktails were so pretty. I'm going to do a quick blog post on them soon. Thanks for putting it on my radar!

I don't stockpile multiples of the same item much, but my husband does because for some strange reason he's terribly hard on his work polos. And picky too. I do, however, have quite a few things in my closet that I never wear, and tend to wear the same few things repeatedly. Prints tend to scare me. And touching other people's laundry is gross, so I'm very happy I have my own washer/dryer.

And mortonjl, if it makes you feel hot, go for it!

That's exactly what I love about it - she's so over the top and fake that its funny. Who decorates their kitchen based on the food they'll be making that day? And did you ever see her Kwanzaa Cake? Hoo boy, that was a doozy!

Ha! I watch Food Network while I work out. Is that wrong? For a while there Sandra Lee was on whenever I worked out, and she always cracked me up. "Semi-Homemade" indeed! I always liked it when she made drinks though - I think she might be fun at a party, based on her love of the cocktail.
