Believe it or not, I actually ate at Dinosaur BBQ that night. So
either you're psychic, or you're stalking me...I'm fine with either,
really. Though if it's the latter, I apologize; I doubt it's very
exciting. Let me know and I'll try to spice things up a little.

I think some parenting went aright at some point, actually. Though
blush wine is nauseating, so I will concede on that point.

Barbecue and beer was pretty much perfect. I mean, it's always
perfect, but it was especially so last night. Sometimes you just need
an evening of meat and booze, ya know?

You are correct. My hair is completely beyond my control. Well, maybe not
completely, but I refuse to spend significant amounts of time with
blowdryers and other implements of predictable hair-dom.

Your pictures are easier- you look pretty much the same in all of them. I'll
keep the wheat thing in mind (sad! so sad!) but I'll also assume that if a
given gentleman is in NYC, he's not original flavor Gummoe.

To answer your question: I will follow you anywhere for a bacon explosion.

BTW, I saw your doppelganger on the subway this morning. He was eating a
muffin. If he'd been eating the bacon explosion, I would have said hello.

Oh, I didn't see that. But I still think my point stands-- how you carry on
a conversation is going to matter a lot more than whether or not you look
cute across a crowded bar. Or at least it should, if the girl isn't a total
shithead. You can't do much about getting a girl's attention at first glance
anyway; everyone has such different tastes. For me, it's kind of a turn-off
when a guy is all dressed up, but my roommate loves it.

Of course, if I were you, I'd walk up to a girl and say "Hi, how are you? I
volunteer with KITTENS!! KITTY KITTY KITTENNNNSSSS!" And then start
imitating them, with little hand motions and purring noises. So hot!

But you weren't the one looking for advice.

Dude, I'm giving myself the the the the jealousy with all this deep-fried
delicious. If someone offered me a deep fried cookie dough ball in exchange
for one of my kidneys right now, I would say no...but I would need a minute
to think about it. And I would probably regret my choice.

I'll eat the occasional banana au natural, but to my mind, they're
meant for baking. In fact, I might do some of that right now. Best
food ever.

My first thought was definitely "I need to do that someday." My second
thought was "Have you gone fucking insane?" That exact progression of
thoughts is disconcertingly familiar, and Thought #1 always wins out...

Thanks for the suggestions, both of you! Turns out you can make your
own playlist in iTunes and buy it for someone just like an album, so I
did that. And I did end up using a Field Music song! I would maybe
have used some of the other suggestions too, except I already got her
Menomena, and I think she has the others you guys mentioned.

Oh God yeah, Detroit is insane. Tomorrow's game is going to be
awesome. And you have to love that Detroit is such a hockey town. Not
that I'm bitter or anything (Carolina, ahem!)

Montreal, though? The Yankees of hockey, attitude-wise. Ick. My
favorite Canadian team is the Oilers, even though they're having a
rough season. I like that they're young, makes it more fun to root for
them.

I like Chicago too, and Minnesota. Actually, I just like hockey,
really. Sigh...too bad MSG is so fucking expensive!

Ok, time to stop talking about hockey and start drinking with my
roommate, before she kills me.

churches. Growing up, it was more likely that I'd hear the minister

I LOVE love love that book. I'm so glad you reminded me of it! I reread it over and over as a kid, and now I think I might need to go to the library and get it one more time, strange looks on the subway be damned.
