It's all too easy to blame these crimes on mental illness. That's not to say it isn't a often a factor. I do realize that there are many people who either can't get access to Mental Health services or who avoid getting treatment because there is such a stigma attached to it but at the same time, I fell as if a lot of people use mental illness as an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for their own actions too.

I loved EVERYTHING about Gillian Anderson as Marilyn Monroe... she was a kickass David Bowie too, come to think of it.

Mad Sweeney's scene with Laura tickled me. I love that Laura is as Mad Sweeney said a complete asshole. She is. That's what I like about her. She's not wishy washy about who or what she is.

As a writer of what I like to call speculative fiction, I must say I've never quite put this much thought into the matter. Your post certainly gives me a lot to think about. I know this post is 2 years old but I think it's still relevant. It's certainly worth thinking about.

Thank you, for reminding me that it's okay to be myself. I'm introverted by nature, and it can be hard dealing with people who can't understand why I'm not as outgoing as they are, or why I'm perfectly content in solitude most of the time.

I, Robot is right there at the top of my list of favorites. Another book I'd love to recommend is Ray Bradbury's "Martian Chronicles" as well as Larry Niven's "The Integral Trees." I'll stop there because this list could just go on and on forever.

Jessica Khoury's "Origin" seems interesting. I'll definitely have to check that out.

I think that Wordpress blogs make following, sharing and and interacting among each other easier, which may explain it's popularity. I've use Blogger before and there was no interaction at all. Maybe with more persistence and patience, I might have been able to find some success with it. Take this post for example, I only found it because there was a link from Wordpress.
