Good-natured back and forth between fans is part of the game. But it should be good-natured, and always a bit tongue-in-cheek. I never want to be afraid to take my kid to a ballgame.
And what happened to Brian Stowe was reprehensible. And I bet good fans of ANY team can agree on that.
Also, if we're going to use someone as an example of what Phialdelphia fans are like don't use the asshole who threw up on the little girl, use the guys who kicked his ass afterwards.

For those of you who are confused, the rules of fandom are VERY clear. I will present them in order:
1. You can be a fan of your home team. (In my case the 2011 World Champion Philadelphia Phillies.)
2. You can be a fan of the team where you live. (This is handy if the team from rule #1 sucks. Which doesn't apply to me.)
3. You can be a fan of the team your mom or dad rooted for.

That is it. All else is carpetbagging.

Oh please. This is nothing. My gmail account gets hundreds of emails sent to Brazilians named Monteiro every day. I have cancelled flights, phone service, RSVP'd to weddings, etc. I even upgraded someone's casket once because I thought their family was being cheap.

See? Now this is actually a valid point jeffro raises. And in all honestly, one I struggle with. When I post these on Flickr I usually eventually give away the source of the phrase, after giving people a little bit of time to guess. And, really, all the quotes are well known to some degree. I'm not stealing from the poor.

But this is an interesting and valid discussion to have. Unlike that jackassery Trish and her minion Ryan walked in with.

George, thank you for the feedback. I'm sure keeping a community that rich and diverse in line is a task for the ages. And I commend you on the fabulous job both you and Heather Champ have done in the past. Sadly, you are both gone.

My issue here isn't that they have a problem with something I posted. I understand that I push limits. If they would tell me what the specific problem is, I'd promptly deal with it. The problem is that they didn't give me a path to fixing the problem. They were very vague.

I don't think it should be on me to start guessing at what the problem MIGHT be and start willy-nilly deleting photos and changing settings in the hope that I do the right thing.

I absolutely do NOT want to leave Flickr, I also don't want to be thrown out. I feel like I'm part of the community there. And through the years I've always appreciated Flickr's honest and forthright tone when speaking to its community. That's what I'm hoping for here.
