Congratulations to these Baldwinsville Central School District students for their great achievement. The AP exams are difficult national exams and to do well on so many exams is quite a feat.

Kudos to Baldwinsville Central School District for preparing students for success in college. Students like these who do well on the exams can earn "college credit" for their high school classes, saving them a substantial amount on tuition.

Congratulations to these West Genesee High School students for their great achievement. The AP exams are difficult national exams and to do well on so many exams is quite a feat.

Kudos to WGHS for preparing students for success in college. It is great to see that the AP program has grown through the years and students are doing well. Keep up the good work.

I guess I do not understand the unions opposition to this. Having been a teacher, I would be upset at the union for taking a stance against this initiative.

Perhaps the teach initiatives could be used to send teachers to additional training or conferences or purchase additional resources to use in these college level classes.

Encouraging students to take on the challenging of these AP courses is a great thing. Once some students get their feet wet I am sure they will be clamoring for more courses.

In regards to the stipend, teachers usually spend more time preparing and grading while teaching these advanced courses. With the new audit process the College Board has created there is even more work, before students are even taught. Giving teachers a stipend that is based on performance seems like a great motivator for these teachers.

It sounds like Amesbury is doing a great job preapring students for success in college.
