The history of huawei is it built telecoms in china's heartland while american companies went after the big coastal contracts as china went from almost on telecoms to the world most advanced from 1992. over 26 years it has always trued to innovate more for less than its big global competitors, It is a heroic company for the majority of people on the planet. So huawei is loved more by the average chinese than cola-cola or whatever tech brand you think of as america's favorite. I dont think its a good idea to start taking an entrepreneurial leaders freedom away unless you are prepared to publish much more detail and go to prison yourself if you turn out to be wrong. All of this matters because tech compound consequences and sustainability ones for all our children are accelerating probably irreversibly by 2025.
