The Shubenacadie or Millwood band had a right to land in Turtle cove, but they swapped land with the city elsewhere in HRM I believe. That was settled years ago, so there is no hindrance from a Native land claim perspective to developing this area.

Students no longer are allowed to fail MArks have essentially no meaning until they reach highschool. The system will not hold them back, regardless of how ill prepared they are to advance in grade level. By the time they get to high school , the poor performers drop out, with no possibility of further education.

Umm, I think all teachers, even subs have to belong to the NSTU. Most unionized workplaces operate like that.

Some schools are better than others because people gravitate to the cushy assignments. Each school year there is basically a draft, and teachers draw their assignments as their "number " comes up. The further down the pecking order , the less likely you are to get a "good" assignment.

New hires end up in the less desirable schools, and get out when they get a chance. You have a few idealists, that are still in it for the students , but those are rare now, IMO.

There are zero resources on McNAb's for tourist, so this is a bad idea.
Nothing out there but woods and snakes. Back when there was a regular ferry, more people lived there , and an amusement park existed on the island.
