So, I teared up a bit reading this. I'm just glad you're doing fine. Health is a huge issue, especially with black women of all ages. We are more prone to heart disease due to obesity and other health issues. Hypertension runs in my family and I am terrified that despite my recent and successful journey to staying healthy, I might end up with the same problems. This is an issue rarely discussed in our community. Yet the number of people claimed is terrifying and it is one of the biggest threats right now. Hopefully, more talks about this can lead to healthier life choices. To truly love oneself, you must care for yourself.

It's been two years, and I still bump Below the Heavens religiously. Easily Top 5 of Hip Hop albums in the past decade. On another note, I love how there is a clear consensus that "Juice'n Dranks" is a pointless song. Ta'raach sucks. lol.

Yeah but the same could be said by someone else about what you listen to.
I enjoy "dope" music too but shit, I listen to Shawty Lo once in a while. I enjoy it and that's all that matters.

What I'm getting at is, if you're gloating simply for the fact to have something to gloat about, that's weak.

Even as a young one, this album did wonders for me. Funk and Soul music of the 70s opened up the doors for me to be the hip hop lover I am today.

I'm saying it's wack for acting like an elitist because someone likes an artist you don't. I'm agreeing with you basically, lol.

People will always be split when it comes to certain music. There are people who say they don't like any hip hop and I don't like country but I'm not going to insult them for it.

And honestly, it shouldn't matter how someone finds out about an artist, as long as they find out. I'm just for people digging and discovering and being open to new things. I could give a fuck less if they found it from a movie, lol.

Because people (especially on Tumblr) want to act as if they are elitists when it comes to music. I don't like Drake but I'm not going to keep throwing that in your face. You can listen to whatever you want to. I'm not going to hate on dude for being the buzz right now. Better him than Asser Roth who has no skills whatsoever. I think Drake can be a crossover act if he has the right people.
But back to elitist people, if you don't listen to nothing but what they consider "real hip hop" than you don't count and that's wack. Everyone has different tastes.
So don't even worry about others, some people will like Drake, some won't. As long as you enjoy the MUSIC, that should be the only thing that matters.

But why should they be denied this certain civil right simply based on their sexual preference? Why does it even matter? I'm not starting an argument, just intrigued by your outlook on the situation.

Also, I would love to see stats on how income and advantages differ when race is involved in the gay community. Do gay Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc also see a greater amount of income?

But in the most civil manner of marriage, it is a business transaction. With gays not being allowed to marry, they can't combine income on taxes or receive benefits if their loved one dies from the insurance company

It is much more than just providing offspring. In a more modern society, the ideal of marriage being for love and "sons" is outdated. We have to grow with the times and this requires not trampling over the rights of others.

I've stated that it is problematic to have a straight forward draft but as an ideal, a draft would work better.
I see it as teams who didn't make the playoffs but still had an "okay" record should not be able to draft first. Some teams problems are not even that they are missing a player, they might have coaching problems or technique problems or injuries.

The NFL only plays 16 games which makes it a lot more competitive than the NBA in my opinion. Therefore, giving the worst team like the Detroit Lions isn't giving them an advantage, just a building block really.

There is a 2Pac film. It's actually a documentary titled "2Pac: Resurrection"
And Biggie's first album is actually very deep in terms of how he felt about his own life and progress. Of course there are the mainstream hits, 2Pac had these as wells but most of the songs are about his struggles and tribulations in his short lived life. That Notorious movie was just a disgrace anyways, which is expected because people just don't know how to make good films about hip hop artists.

I don't have a problem with her name. I do have a problem with the prince. He is not light skinned, he has no "black" features. Most, if not all Disney male heroes are very European looking while the villains are the ones with the "ethnic" appearance. Take for example, Aladdin doesn't look Middle Eastern at all, but Jabaar (?) does. I just think that they could have had a darker toned prince and this is coming from someone who is light skinned their self. And let's not pretend, that Disney has never had racially insensitive characters.
