I think the goal, if not the method is totally attainable for somebody who's 240. It takes a lot of calories to maintain that weight (unless you're really tall... don't know your height), and I think you can totally do this, or get pretty close. Good luck!
(Though I can't help but feel that ramping down, not ramping up calories would trick your body better, so it doesn't get used to less, and get hyper excited about more... but as you said in your post, you know your body.)
The people who really need to listen to the DO NOT DO THIS advice are people who are smaller, more likely female. To lose 28 pounds in 28 days requires extremely crazy-ass activities if you're not that big.
Thanks for the site. I love when people document life-hack type things.

Re: Twitter: We Need Search By Authority

I like the idea of *some* sort of authority, but maybe a shifting secret sauce rather than number of followers.
I get your example of number of followers influencing amount of social capital/ opinion, but that value falls away in terms of any kind of expertise on anything non-subjective.
An expert/opinion/heavyweight on Objective-C/iphone stuff has way less followers than any A-list social media pundit (who merely bought an iphone), but would be artificially penalized if following a strict follower=authority rule.

Re: Too Much Nick

Looking only at public, blog-type stuff, Tracie gets flack for mere activity/enjoyment, and you get flack for the way in which you pursue stuff.
All of this is private behavior, so there's no way anybody can pass judgment on anything other than one person's interpretation of it, but controlled for that, there is a difference in flack here.

Re: Too Much Nick

Aaaaannnd Singularity.

Re: No. You are not tech-savvy.

Hmm. There are different kinds of technological literacy. She might not know about file systems and hardware, but by reading her blog(s) and quotes, I can tell she knows a bit about web-based tools, identity systems, and the business models behind a lot of tech stuff. I think she can fairly call herself a geek. And also, you *are* tuned into pop culture. Everybody wins!
(enjoying your blog, BTW!)
