For #3, Page Lookups Percentage. I can't quite resolve the description of the metric with the query.

For example, I don't know how this metric is a percentage. And I'm not sure how this metric ties says anything about plan cache bloat.

Based on the query, the metric looks like it could be called "Page lookups per batch request" which could indicate memory caused by plan cache bloat (but maybe there are other causes?).

We can turn that on its head sometimes where I can be perceived more positively for the infrequent times I fall short:

If I'm lucky, I can help out with issues so efficiently that people are barely aware there was an issue. Or they underestimate the severity of the issue and that often leads to forgetting there ever was an issue in the first place.

If I do that 9 times out of 10, and the 10th issue it takes me a week to tackle. If I give frequent updates, I'm seen as tackling a tough and severe issue. And it's that that sticks in peoples minds.

I often struggle with that dilemma.

Some really good links here this week John.
And thanks for the plug, "Making life easier, just because I can" is exactly why I posted it.

We had our own Victoria day weekend two weeks ago. Better known as "the start of summer" or May 2-4 ("2-4" being another name for a case of beer)

I took a look at @queen_uk and somehow I suspect that it's not really her tweeting.

Wisdom I think (for top dbas... can't vouch for geeks) Only if wisdom means "knowing and making correct choices". That is certainly a different flavour than intelligence but it's related somehow.

I know a couple intelligent people without wisdom, they often put their feet in their mouths or are too proud etc...
