Every time I come away from a talk with you I feel like driving really fast in the opposite direction of home. Far too often, creative people fall into traps of routine like everyone else. We are human after all. The comfort offered by consistency is especially tugging due to the nature of our work. In order to stay above water, we're constantly clinging to clients and contracts that offer long-term financial support. I for one have fallen into this trap of exhausting myself on projects for payment and nowhere near enough time lighting a fire under self-fulfilling creative endeavors. #hohoto was a refreshing switch from that trend. What you are proposing here is an equally worthy community-based effort.

Far too often I've had to explain the value of what I do to clients. Price is never the issue, rather it is the value the client associates with that work. I find I'm frequently on the defensive so I'm all for a streamlined way to educate to appreciate. More than that, a community that encourages and supports in our efforts to do more than just work our craft for a living. Dramatic examples to shrug off apathy and find the romance and magic in what we do. I guess craft with a soul rather than monetized objectification.

As always, your ideas are also in tune with mine and as always you have my support.
