A friend suggested I check them out when I said I wanted to listen to some new electro-pop. I downloaded a few albums, and have been pleased so far. Good to hear from you!

Re: http://tumblr.fronkis.com/post/11163097944

If this means what I think it does, I am so happy for you.

Re: http://michaelikesit.tumblr.com/post/5545199222

Kris- I had no idea you were going for that, that's awesome. Where are you going to school? I'm actually planning on returning to school myself. You hit the nail on the head with the amenities and appearing at or near the top of some insignificant organization's list comments. Lord knows there are enough of those organizations out there that nearly every college routinely appears at the top of some insignificant list.

It's really sad how all industries seem to be going the same way. Capitalism seems to have completely infiltrated higher education. Transcripts used to be free. I've ordered copies of mine recently, and they were $8. I don't have that much of a problem with it, it's just the fact that they point to the cost of printing and mailing the shit. It kills me when I end up receiving solicitations for alumni gifting immediately after I place the transcript order (in the mail!) often before the transcript itself arrives, and it continues on a regular basis. As you mentioned, full blown professors rarely teach, and they farm it out to the cheapest talent possible, basically finding a body with a resume to fit a position, which is extremely sad.

The credit requirement courses kill me too. I did those wrong. Looking back, aside from the social and personal growth I experienced my first 2 years of college, pretty much all of that could of been knocked out at a community college. I've actually got orientation at my local community college tomorrow, kind of excited. It's such a bargain, and I'll be there actually wanting to be there, something that most undergrads today have never realized. I think that community colleges are going to be the wave of the future, as the cost of tuition has gotten straight up fucking ridiculous. "what should we raise the rate to? well, what's the max a student is able to borrow in one year? Let's set it very close to that."

One of my best friends did it right, but not that many systems exist. He took classes like ice climbing, the art of making paper, and other stuff that he found interesting that actually fit into a requirement. I

This country is in a lot of trouble and it's going to get worse, shit needs to change.

Re: http://michaelikesit.tumblr.com/post/4610524646

Sadly, it is. I'd like to think he got it of his own volition, but I have a hard time believing it. I think it's more likely that some asshole thought it would be funny, either a random or a tattoo artist. He's somewhat of a local celebrity, and rarely, if ever sober. The person who did that definitely took advantage of him.

Re: http://michaelikesit.tumblr.com/post/4633985936

I like rants, especially when they make very good points.

Re: http://michaelikesit.tumblr.com/post/4393051171

Agreed. I'm still drinking my grandparents coffee (schuil coffee), but sadly I'm still using a drip machine. Time for me to get my shit together. And yes, using filtered water is great, that's one change I did institute a few years ago.

Re: http://michaelikesit.tumblr.com/post/4160098080

I've definitely never seen that kind of a message before. I liked those last 2 coffee posts, think it might be time for me to get a french press. Rogue is my favorite Oregon brewery, though I imagine there are a ton I've never heard of or even tried out there. I love Bell's, but will admit that it has gotten huge, it's seeped all the way down to North Carolina. Ever had Founder's? It's from Grand Rapids, and is another excellent brewery.

Re: http://michaelikesit.tumblr.com/post/2722697339

Case- thanks. Yeah, McMinnville is a must see next time I'm out west. I saw an SR-71 at the SUH museum at Dulles, and am always up for seeing one of those. Just can't see the point of messing with it with water at the end, completely different if the runway simply ended in a field. floated way too long on the runway, up to that point it was pretty good.

Re: http://michaelikesit.tumblr.com/post/969108069

Thanks, Bill.
