With that said, if you're looking for a more affordable solution you should take a look at Squeezebox by Slim Devices.

Re: Bringing The Web Into Our Living Room

Sonos has support for Pandora - http://urltea.com/29k9. One thing that I'd like to add here is that I contacted Lane about 8 months ago about using one of her photos on a blog post - http://urltea.com/2dh8. It took all of two minutes to ask for permission to use the photo and she had no problem with it as long as it was properly credited. This whole mess could have been avoided if the Richter Scales had asked for permission in the first place or if they had been more courteous when she contacted them.

Re: Why Lane Hartwell is wrong

Creative Commons is not synonymous with unregulated sharing of content. Rhapsody was on the right track when they released API's to access they're catalog and now they appear to be taking a huge step back when they shut down a site that successfully built a service around their API's. What kind of example does this set for other developers who want to build services around Rhapsody?

Re: [bijansabet.com] the personal tumblelog of Bijan Sabet

Another example of a company integrating with Rhapsody with a separate player is TiVo.

Re: [bijansabet.com] the personal tumblelog of Bijan Sabet

TechCrunch has picked up this story: http://urltea.com/2gix

Re: Fred Wilson Dot VC

I'm in mourning.

Re: Scoble and his Facebook data (Scripting News)

Are you open to the possibility that this has nothing to do with FB wanting to close off their data and is simply FB protecting themselves from automated scripts that can slow down the site for everyone?

Re: Scoble and his Facebook data (Scripting News)

Adding to my last comment...
If the script that Scoble was running was intended for something that had nothing to do with portability of the social graph - e.g. if it scraped your friends' profile photos and created a pretty collage for personal use - would this even be a news story?

Re: Trade Secrets 2.0? He TiVo'd the Oscars and had to turn off his Twitter because he didn't want to see any spoilers while he watched the event hours after it happened. I'm finding that I'm watching more and more events in real time. The networks must love this trend because they have more captive viewers for commercials.

This got me to thinking that someone should build a tool that allows you to timeshift your Twitterstream. For example, if you started watching the Oscars 4 hours later, you could dial back your Twitter 4 hours (e.g. with a timeline slider at the bottom of the page) and you'd be able to see your Twitterstream in synch with the show that you're watching. You're own tweets would be back dated based on the timeshift. BTW, my wife thinks I'm nuts with these ideas.

Re: [bijansabet.com] the personal tumblelog of Bijan Sabet

It is a happy day indeed.

Re: This is brand new big shit, but

I'd like to see a slick Twitter client built for iPhone that hooked into my Address Book and also told me which of my contacts were in my geographical area based on their location.

Re: Tuneage

I like it.
