You get a prize. A call for the Impeachment of Oliy-Bomber for continuing the policies of Bush/Cheney does indeed make them liable for Impeachment or in fact calls for criminal charges.

Not to mention Nancy Pelosi for her complicity in covering it up. We could even throw in Pelosi facing a side charge of covering up torture. From her time on the Intelligence Committee in 2002.

Not to mention that the FBI infiltrated the Peace Community here with an undercover called "Karen Sullivan."

Look to Egypt folks.

This is what I just said at a speech in St Paul, Minnesota at a rally in support of the people of Egypt.

There was a rally in St Paul, Minnesota today. The temperature was about zero
degrees. Minus 5 with wind chill.

The rally was in support of the people of Egypt. At one point I asked if I could
address the crowd. They willingly handed me over the microphone.

I started with a few chants. From Egypt to Palestine. Freedom Now-It Is Our
Time.

I then spoke to the crowd as an Irish American. How the Irish had also lived
with oppression, Imperialism, Colonialism. That my people, the Irish were at
the forefront of the struggle for Palestinians. This drew a large cheer from the
crowd.

I then pointed out that the US government, our government had aided the
Mubarak regime with $1.8 BILLION a year. That it did not matter if Bush was
president or Obama. That it did not matter if there were Republicans or
Democrats in Office or Congress. This drew many nods of agreement.

I spoke on the fact that the US government did not want democracy in Egypt,
Palestine, Tunisia, Tanzania. Or indeed here in the US. I then thanked the
people of Egypt for showing us, in the United States how to do it. How to start
and build a democracy movement here.

This drew another large cheer.

We need a democracy movement here in the United States.

Because if we were to be honest with ourselves, we do not have democracy, an
actual representative democracy here.

And signing petitions or calls to “call your Congressperson” will not give us one.

So let us start to talk of building a democracy movement.

Right here in the good old US of A.

See you there. I am glad to see that Al Jeezera and others are discussing this. I have in fact contacted the media groups and "progressive" media you mention.

Ignored repeatedly. Of course there are a number of activist groups who are now coming to grips with the horrific analysis that I and others are making.

My point Vicki is that any progressive journalist who ever did make that public assertion of the undeniable Democrats open public complicity in the wars etc etc will never be given media access again.

You see, the very corporations which own the media (and healthcare and...) also own the electoral system itself.

Which makes working with in the corporate media and two party system itself self defeating. Not to mention reinforcing the very disenfranchisment that so many progressives complain about.

That is why I have been pounding so hard and often on opposing the corporate corrupted, pro-war two party system itself.

And which explains why those corporate media like MSNBC, Air America, Nation magazine, Progressive mag, Mother Jones etc will ignore and never allow those of us who hold this position, what I have termed the golden microphone.

If you speak on behalf of those who have the gold, you get access to the golden microphone.

Jeremy Scahill is the exception. Even he can only go so far.

Well thank you for replying. An argument can be made that Congress, White House is indeed allowing the bankers, Pentagon, Secret Security groups and Corporate top guys to run the country. That fact is now undeniable.

Quite frankly, it is my studied opinion that until that central fact is dealt with, there is no hope for any solutions. just a series of well managed, madison ave inspired bait and switches. Which can be no more perfectly shown than the Obama campaign.

Sorry, could not disagree more on the Democrats. In fact there is virtually no-one in Congress that is honourable, with a VERY few noteable exceptions (Kucinich) who quite frankly expose just how rotten the entire system is.
latest examples are the Impeachment Resolution that was killed by DEMOCRATS and now healthcare (killing the Kucinich amendment and adding Stupac amendment)

The war, sorry but the Dems (and Reppubs) ARE the war machine. This war could never have started without their consent. The Dems COULD have stopped it once it started. By doing NOTHING. In other words by STOPPING the FUNDING (that is the power of the Congress) even in the minority. Then the Dems gained the majority on Congress, still wars and war funding goes on. Then the Dems gain the White House. Wars go on.

My central point is and remains that anyone with this perspective EVER appear on ANY corporate media? MSNBC, Ed Show, Rachel Maddow, Air America the Nation etc etc

Simple answer. No.

I have a very serious and important question.

Since we now have a Democrat in the White House, Democratic Congress and Senate. It can fairly easily be said that the Democrats are the war machine.

If you or others were to make that undeniable political analysis, do you thinnk that you would be given spots on MSNBC, the Ed Show, Rachel Maddow or indeed space in the Nation magazine?

Jeremy is doing a spectacular job speaking the truth.

As much as the owners of the corporate media will allow him. That and no further.

The Democrats are the war machine. Can anyone say it? If they do, will they immediately be denied the access to the golden corporate friendly media?

In St Paul, the progressive community have tried to have Betty take progressive stands in issues like Single payer, End War Funding, Support Impeachment of Bush/Cheney, Oppose FISA, NAFTA, GATT, Patriot Act etc etc.

No dice. This ACORN Bill is just one more meaningless, symbolic horse and pony show that the Democrats play on people, whenever they are being held accountable.

Votes counted beforehand, vote on issue, say to their constituients "well look, we tried but just couldn't."

Bait, switch, horse and pony show successful.

Of course, it is now undeniable that the Democrats ARE THE WAR MACHINE. No more excuses.

If you support the Dems, then you support the war machine.

My God, the irony is overwhelming.

An American journalist gets his pieces covered on Al Jazeera but not in the US. The corporate media are the enemy of an informed public and so, by extention democracy itself.

As for the idea that this is our chance to "lobby our Congress and Senate", have you been paying attention?

They are not our representatives, they are ALL bought and paid for (except for Kuchinich and Barbara Lee) They do not care what you think.

Of course, you were all warned about this. By the evil evil man you all chose to ignore. Ralph Nader.

We all know that this is Nader's fault. Because we were told that by a corporate bought "democratic" system that it was the fault of the man who spent his entire life fighting those very corporate interests. For the greater good.

Case in point, you say that old evil (really evil) Cheney did not want any in Congress to know what the CIA was up to.

They did. It was not just evil old Cheney. Nancy Pelosi knew. Senator Dick Durban of the Intelligence Committee knew. Just like he knew that WMD's were lies but repeated those lies in the run up to war.

How about you and the "radical" Nation (or Mother Jones, Progressive, Keith Olberman even) offer up a retraction and apology to Ralph Nader, Cynthia McKinney, Cindy Sheehan (sitting all alone right now, protesting the NEW war criminal president) or yes indeed Carl Romanelli from Pennsylvania and all the others that you all ignored or smeared?

Speaking as a long time media activist here. One of the biggest problems with the corporate media is the idea that the media does not inform the American public. That the editors (and the money which owns them) decide which facts go out to the American public. So that instead of providing all the facts and informing the public, the corporate media shut out dissenting voices. There by continuing the rules of the golden microphone.

So that lack of journalistic ethics and integrity in the corporate media carries on.

Expose the golden microphone. Especially when it is being green washed or peace washed.
