I'll have to get a copy to see if and what the 13th Colony 'Georgia' was producing in the way of stoneware during its early days. Wonderful pots...

Do you think Stacy could do some metalwork to enhance some of your special pieces? I loved that tankard with the silver/gilt.

Re: Got Pics?

Love that juicy amber/temmoku tea cup. I would love to have and hold that one! Thanks for posting the pics; the new work is wonderful. I guess I'll have to go to the Ferrin site to see the show. FYI; Lillian's cup is really cool too. she has a talent....have a safe and fun trip!

Re: First View

Dig!

Re: oh brother

Sounds like the south, hot and steamy! I really love the layers in the glaze/body. That 1% copper glaze is awesome on the porcelain body. I'm also just sitting here coveting that big jar in the photo of your pots set up for the home show...sorry we couldn't make it!

Re: After Supper Lark

Very fresh and fun...they look good enough to eat! I'm glad that you are getting some 'warm' weather also. We had quite a cold snap in Savannah...but are also getting some sun and shine!

I really wish I could meet up with you at the Nelson; that is a GREAT museum full of wonderful collections. I especially enjoyed the ancient, handmade Chinese furniture and ceramics...just marvelous! You know me, I know you...waiting for that AKAR show....

Re: Counting Chickens

Oh my! As a collector...I'll be watching for the finished pieces when they go on line for sale. Ron is a real master at his art. Both with his handling of clay itself, form, and the total integration of the two with such deft and gestural quality of painting and color; he has the Angel's touch in his hand. Anyone who owns one of Ron's pieces knows this and is a lucky person indeed.....

Re: What Is It?

Looks like one of those 40's or 50's Anchor Hocking glass bowls with the broad ribs placed upside down over either a ceramic bowl with carving....or a floor grate with ribs....??

Re:

Needless to say we were in the middle of the blizzard that week; 8 inches of snow blowing winds of 40 mph and -35 windchill! We wanted to get to the Kohler museum as we had heard great things about it, but weather and time kept us out..go if you can! FYI when you are in Sheboygan there is an incredible diner on 8th St. called Jume's. It is right out of the 50's from the inside to out. The Bratwurst stew was incredible; and old fashioned diner with food that hasn't changed much in 50 years....enjoy!

Re: http://michaelklinepottery.blogspot.com/2009/01/righteous-wood-kilns-vol-2.html

What a STUNNING photo with the mountain/forest background. Hard work to fire a kiln with wood, but the beauty of the surroundings must help with the stoking....
