They're hypocritical Republicans who are so afraid of losing yet another elected official that they would cling to their demonizing of Clinton while searching for some sophistry to find Sanford's culpability less meaningful within their self-righteous ethical philosophy. This man is nothing more than "a pretty face with naught behind". He left his job as governor, disappearing without telling anyone, an act that trumps Clinton's in spades. Kenneth Starr singlehandedly brought the White House to it's knees (pun intended) over what amounts to a peccadillo compared to Sanford's actions. How many neo-conservative hypocrites are still out there comitting acts that far exceed those of the opposing party that they accuse so sanctimoniously. Carter proved that ethical righteousness isn't enough to make an effective leader, but not only are this man's infidelities equal or greater than those that brought down members of the opposing party, but his provincial "y'all" language and Bush-like politics make this guy clearly not worthy of the office he holds.</p>
