Unfortunately this is another indication of how party politics work. It's not about what you can do or what you stand for, it's about shoving a stick in the other guys spokes. What does the Madia campaign think it's going to get by removing a few Paulsen lawn signs? This is a campaign for the US Congress, not Senior Class President.

Another good reason to vote independent and vote for David Dillon.

What email address are you using to email David? Perhaps he is not getting them. I'm David's webmaster and I'd be glad to make sure he is getting your messages! I know for a fact that David is very responsive to emails sent to him from constituents so I have to think there is some problem with delivery. Perhaps it is getting stuck in a spam filter somewhere. Email is not a 100% sure fire form of communication! Just because you sent it, doesn't mean it was received.

Anyway, please try sending an email to david.dillon@dillonforcongress.org and if he gets it, I am 100% positive he will reply!

I think the point is to emphasize that he never would vote for a bill that contained earmarks and his pledge is to give the voters some confidence that he's not just blowing smoke. No public humiliation would be necessary because it would never happen. Politicians promise stuff all the time and break their promises because there are usually no real consequences. David actually IS a different kind of politician (or non-politician, as it were) and if voters are really in the mood for "change," electing David certainly would be a change from politics as usual.

Yes, but currently robbing a bank is against the law. Writing earmarks into legislation is an accepted practice that SHOULD be against the law. David's pledge makes perfect sense. It's an assurance to his constituents that he will not take part in this wasteful practice and if he ever does, he would resign his seat. Surely you can tell the difference between robbing a bank and using earmarks. I'll grant you that both are stealing other peoples money though!

Let's see what happens after Thursday's debate. Mr. Dillon is by far, the most thoughtful, most experienced, and most knowlegable candidate in this campaign and the debate should show that. David has actual solutions and he's not afraid to say what he thinks. If the best candidate can't get elected because they don't have a D or and R after their name, that's really too bad.

To say that David doesn't have a very good chance of winning is one thing, but to say he is not a serious candidate is actually offensive to me. Even if he just gets enough votes to sway the election one way or the other then I think that is a success. Put the parties on notice that they are not getting the job done and a large enough chunk of the voting public is fed up enough to vote for a third party.

Hey, I don't consider Gavin a "serious blogger" but I read him anyway. ;)

Sorry but this isn't about 1 district. It's about the entire House and Senate. The 2 Party system IS broken and it needs to be shaken up. When there is not even any compromise to get things passed when both sides actually agree on something, for no other reason that I can see besides spite, then the system is broken. When party becomes more important than progess, then the system is broken.

The Congress recently had an approval rating of 9%, if that's not indicative of a system that has broken down and lost the trust and confidence of the entire voting public, I don't know what is. I think I would call that broken.

You do know what the definition of insanity is, don't you? But you go right ahead, keep on voting in Red Guy A or Bue Guy B to toe their party's line, you go for it.

Why don't you go out to a few coffee shops and poll how many people know of, or have heard of Ashwin Madia. Please publish those results.

1. The two party system is broken. The business of the people is not getting done.

2. The majority party will not even allow bills to be voted upon.

3. The job approval rating of the current congress is 9%.
