While I don't have verifiable metrics. --- It safe to say that much of the violent crime takes place in easily identifiable neighborhoods. These silly community programs are feel good measures. How many have to die before Mayor Snook gets serious? Put the high crime neighborhoods on mandatory lockdown after dark. Out on the street after curfew? Immediate incarceration in out door cages in public,. First offense. 3 days. Offenders wear a specific color shirt in the cage. 2nd offenders 30day lock down wear a Pink T. Have some fun with the program. Escalate to full military style tactics and declare martial law if there is another murder. Enough with social programs.

Look I’m a long time Apple user. First was an Apple II+ in 1979. I’ve owned Many many Apple devices. But please— purchase timing does matter. Looming new releases that are superior to an existing device are always a factor. So “with full sincerity”. Apple consumers should pay attention to projected product release dates when making purchase decisions.

Till Till—- I have read on MacRumours , that the Mixed Reality Headset will fail, that no one wants it, further that Apple is “greedy” and it will never sell at the suggested price points. ( There are more than a few Marxists in the Apple community who resent pricing that isn’t for everyone) Please your optimism makes me dizzy. I’m thinking a 3 yr lifespan tops. That’s acceptable. Disposable gadgets. The advances won’t stand still. Yes Yes I read these post by people claiming they use their MacBook Pro for 3,4,5 years. Good for them. But if you’re affluent, enthusiastic and embracing of new tools, that’s waaaay too long.

You’re living on the Moon if you believe this won’t be a hugely influential product. Apple has said this is not a gaming device like those you reference. It’s not a mass market device either. There is this silly idea that new technology releases should be made for “every person”. This is not an egalitarian product. It is for affluent early adopter, developers, enterprise, education and content creators and other imaginative users. Apple is not a price gouge. The $3000 price point will ensure most of the gaming buffoons won’t be in line. Inflation is an irrelevant factor to the target market for this tool. Get a part time job if “inflation” is too much to “grapple” with.

This positive financial news for Apple is upsetting to the many embittered Marxists of the Apple Consumer community.

Of late I have read that Apple is “Greedy”, “Elitist”, “Racist” and unfair to it’s workers. Further, almost daily one finds Apple consumers that declare Apple “doesn’t know what it’s doing” in marketing product X or. Upgrading product Y. If only Apple would listen to their customers, They, “Apple” would be more successful.

It is amusing to watch the hysterics, the class resentment and the many would be Marketing experts and Design Savants that frequent Apple forums..

The good news is that Apple doesn’t listen to these rants. And the better news is Apple product pricing is on an upward trend.

That is as it should be.

My guess is a high percentage of Apple Forum posters are also Tiik-Tok/ Instagram news consumers. You find all manner of would be experts here, including Computer design savants, marketing strategists and consumer specialists. They declare Apple has lost it’s way. Apple doesn’t know what they’re doing. And that Mixed Reality devices are useless. Further in the past week I’ve seen Apple referred to as “Elitist”, “Greedy” “Racist” degraded by resentful Marxist/Leninist Apple fans who can’t afford the platform in an era where housing is out of reach for many, food insecurity is rising and the uneducated have a guaranteed bleak future.

It’s all noise. the affluent and educated have a built in filter that tunes out the wailing of the 21st century embittered proletariat.

In the 2000’s I was in the hiring loop at two Fortune 50 companies. You had to take the corporate hiring training class to be in the decision loop. We were accustomed to seeing many 20 something’s resumes with substantive content, graduate degrees and early professional success. Now to be fair, resume inflation is a common tactic. Oh Yes, I know FCP and Database management! And I could forgive such dubious claims. But I’m pretty sure, that in the course of an interview had a candidate told me they got some of their news from sources like Tik-Tok or Instagram— I’d have said, “Hey! Thanks for coming in We’ll contact you if we have anything” Laughs!!!!

The triumph is ignorance is upon us. It’s fun to watch!

Our home has multiple Apple devices. None were purchased in a store. Click, click click. Package arrives in a few days. Same with Groceries. I haven’t been in a grocery store since 2019. (Though I confess my wife likes to secretly go to Whole Foods ). Save gas- and the planet. Don’t drive to any store!

Yes “Lifestyle's of the Rich and Famous” What a hoot! I spent a fun day with Robin Leach in the early 80’s. What a nice man! He was fun, witty and smart. And he didn’t take himself too seriously.

I admire your compassion for the less fortunate. As an existentialist, I’m ok with their plight. I contribute annually to a community Women’s center in Nairobi. It’s a small effort. But it’s all I can or will do.

I laughed at your “brag about your degree”. This is the USA! Where the triumph of ignorance is widespread. Where people Boast that they didn’t go to college. A nation where many despise the educated elites! Never take pride in your routine academic achievement!! You might hurt someone’s feelings who is deep in student debt or less fortunate!!!!! Yes there are real world metrics that auger well for Apple raising prices (Tim Cook has spoken about this recently to CNBC).

No I’m not complaining that “customers are being priced out of the platform”. I’m stating a fact. In the wake of the pandemic, employment shifts and inflation Many are being priced out of Housing, automobiles, education and food.

And that goes for consumer electronics as well. (And especially high end information products)

Macro Economics was my strong suit in college and I wasn’t even an Econ major! . Still, Micro- Economics was too much for me. I do think Apple’s prices are too low. They have a cult following consumer group— they produce distinctly unique products- and they are eagerly sought. Tim Cook said in a CNBC interview that “supply chain” influenced their balance sheets. On the Macro side ( a new peak 9.1% Inflation rate announced yesterday) and here comes the Fed right behind that number. The upward pressure on prices of EVERYTHING is self evident. Apple will raise prices. And in my opinion it should be sooner rather than later.

I don’t care if people are priced out of the platform.
Nor do I care if they cannot buy a Tesla or a new pair of running shoes.

Let’s revisit this when the 2023 Apple Mixed reality headset arrives. Will Apple surprise us? Some analysts believe it will be a break through product. It’s not going to be a product for the Mass consumer. And that is as it should be.

Good for you! I remember people telling me they didn’t want to buy the “Fat” Mac because their Apple II did what they needed. Just as there as an increasing Gap in society based on economic and education standing, so too there is a “Tech Divide” ( gaps between those with Fast connectivity vs. Slow and emerging hardware/ software advances leave many like you in the rear view mirror.). Magic Leap is releasing their new AR headset in September. Price: $3300. Apple’s 2023 Mixed reality device has been suggested at a $3000 device. These new gadgets will accelerate the tech divide. And despite all the shrieking over VR headsets from the Gaming community— the massive change is going to be in the professional realm. And those using 5 year old devices are irrelevant. Get a 2nd job and plant a Money Tree! there’s no time to waste. The coming Tsunami of AR/VR Automation Machine-learning Quantum computing will wash millions of jobs away. ( I read an interesting piece about how Retail employees and Truck drivers are the first large class of employees targeted for tech displacement. And the educated classes are not immune. Watch Law, Medicine. Education). It’s going to be an amazing 20 years. With many casualties. As a cynic, a pessimist and a misanthrope it’s an exciting time to be alive! BRING It!

Many posters here are unhappy. Technical specs and price point complaints. Many should exit the Apple ecosystem. they’ll be happier. The suggested $3000 price of the coming Mixed reality headset has been a wake up call to naive consumers. Poster’s said, that’s “insane” and it will “never happen”. Laughs!! Magic Leap announced yesterday their new AR headset coming in September. Price: $3300. The notion that Apple products be made for “Everyman” is silly.
