i've never seen him! that's my goal this year. to see Conor. you're right, it was just "by Conor Oberst" on the album, but yes the band played, and the same band is playing again on this album and tour(s).

Iraq has improved a whole lot.
America has grown stronger and more together.
Issues have been brought to the public's attention; like the Economy.
/People/ are starting to be able to take hold of those major issues, realize them, change their attitude towards them, and start to fix them.
These last eight years have been a time of realization. a time to take matters into your personal life, your financial life. and fix them for yourselves.

Now, I'm not saying Bush was the best president. He wasn't. But if we didn't have him as president, if we didn't go through what America has gone through for the past 8 years or more. do you think we could have come together like this? taken matters into our own hands as much as we have?

I don't think so.

I'm really sorry to have gotten you worked up like this. I didn't mean for that to happen. but just to me, saying 'the last 8 years', you /are/ referring to Bush. We have been going downhill for decades, so why just say 'the last 8 years'?

Otherwise, I totally see where you're coming from when you say how much America has gotten together and busy with rebuilding our country, and I love it. That's what's so great about us. We never give up. We're still intact, just like that flag.

I just lose respect for someone that scrutinizes the last 8 years as terrible, damaging, whatever. In that way, you're just blaming Bush for everything, just without saying his name. the President of the United States /does not/ decide everything that happens in the country, especially economy-wise. It's the congress who votes on that.
Yes, most of the time there is a Republican President in office when something terrible happens, but also, most of the time the Congress is Democratically controlled when something terrible happens.
Bill Clinton thought up the great plan for everyone to have a home. That's the exact plan that snowballed our economy.
Bush sent us to war, which was one of the smartest things he did during his stay in office. We have just been there too long, but we can't leave a broken nation. People are saying that there's been no progress, why are we still there. To that i say, "Iraq had it's first election a few months ago, how awesome is that?"

I'm sorry for the novel. It's just, "the last 8 years", that really bugs the shit out of me.

i actually just got back from Disney World today. i think the best non-rollercoaster ride is at Epcot. "the big ball", Spaceship Earth. it takes you through the history of the Earth; the Ice Age, the Renaissance, the Romans, etc, and then at the end is a surprise. a hilarious surprise. i loved it (:

actually a majority of their songs are in their native language, Icelandic. completely translatable. but i don't recommend looking up the translations, the song meanings are better left up to you.
and one of their songs is in English. ahah.

I don't find "because the Bible says so" as a respectable answer at all in this matter. is there not the separation of Church and State? the Church (the Bible) does not run what is legal or illegal according to a state, and it should never.

i serioulsy cannot believe that you're taking something this far. it had a straight to the point, obvious meaning.
/usually/, when something happens to the economy, like it is now, small business that are hurt can't get back on their feet. /because they don't have the financials or national popularity/.
