I didn't say they'd necessarily be "held liable" for anything, other than in the court of public opinion. But obviously not every defendant who pays as a result of a lawsuit has been determined to be 'liable' in a legal sense.

Re: Video Shows Man Being Forcibly Removed From a United Flight

Oh, they'll pay as a result of negative publicity. And you really have to jump to a lot of assumptions to definitively state that no one will pay anything as a result (such as the assumption that United would even want to litigate this matter).

Re: Video Shows Man Being Forcibly Removed From a United Flight

I agree and as I noted, I certainly wouldn't have reacted in this way. But that won't matter. The public takeaway from this will be that United forcibly removed a passenger from a flight because it was oversold (a practice most everyone hates).

Re: Video Shows Man Being Forcibly Removed From a United Flight

I think jumping up to defend United here is pretty silly. No, this is not how I would have reacted in the situation had I been chosen to be involuntarily bumped. But this is still 100% on United. And to be frank: "But the passenger agreed to our overbooking rules!" is not going to persuade anyone, regardless of the passenger's behavior.

Re: Video Shows Man Being Forcibly Removed From a United Flight

The notion that someone should have to 'plan ahead' to account for an airline's greedy business practices is beyond absurd.

Re: Delta Flash Sale: 110,000 Miles RT to Europe in Delta One

Why is it that when you go to choose a seat they are identified as "business class" and not simply "Delta One," despite the fact that the "business class" distinction doesn't appear on the chart detailing Delta's various types of seating classes?

Re: Why Can't Hillary Clinton Lock Up the Nomination?

Who, the guy that in other posts says he's "leaving the Democratic party" because of gays and a women's right to choose? And "A few months later"? Sanders had a 3 or 4 pledged delegate lead for a little over two weeks, from Feb. 9-26. Clinton took the lead on Feb. 27 and has held it since that time.

Superdelegates should go with whoever they want. Or they should go with the majority of voters. Either way, that would be Clinton. But please note, this isn't going to come down to a floor vote. Sanders will drop out after the last primary, just as Clinton did in 2008. There is no way the runner up will convince a huge number of superdelegates to reject the will of the majority of primary voters.

Re: Why Can't Hillary Clinton Lock Up the Nomination?

"Ditch the smug attitudes"? You know what, I'm not discounting Sanders' support, whatsoever. I like Sanders and would happily vote for him in the general election.
