As of 3/10/15 on the latest 3DS firmware, I've got it working on Windows 8.1 with two wi-fi usb dongles. I had it working days ago with just one, but couldn't figure out why I couldn't get it going again.

I tried a second method that needed two internet connections, and when I tried to rename one of them, Windows told me I could not rename it to "attwifi" because I'd already used that name (in another failed attempt), but it wasn't visible to me. So Regedit and I went to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\NetworkList\Profiles\

and lo-and-behold, there was the "ConnectNintendo3DS" connection that was visable the first time I actually got the Glacier Gaming's method working. Apparently, because nzone.exe was not able to create another connection by the same name, and the command prompt wasn't going to give me errors (actually just two spaces before the next C:\> line instead of one), it just looked like nothing was working.

Tl;dr: CHECK YOUR NETWORK PROFILE NAMES.

Re: Island of Rage Episode 7

what's probably most ironic about what you're saying about a lack of sportsmanship is that most of these fat little fucks sitting online talking shit to each other haven't ever played a sport, and when they did it was TWENTY YEARS AGO in little league.

interestingly enough, i play rugby now, which is a fairly violent sport, but has more camaraderie than any sport i've ever played. we'll get on the field, break each others noses, finish the game, and 9 times out of 10 the loser will stay to drink the other teams' beer. you're absolutely right. gaming needs more respect between it's players.

Re: Island of Rage Episode 6

well that's probably my problem. here in the dirty dirty anyone around here who plays video games plays madden and are chomping at the bit for another fight night. i don't really know people in the immediate area interested in the same kind of shit we are so it makes for some boring gaming experiences. army of two (which was impossible to play on a 32" HD when i finally did get a second person in), bad company, mercenaries 2.. all kind of blew solo. bad company multiplayer was decent tho...

i love it when you get a great multiplayer game and the online is handled perfectly. cod4 was great like that. i just got left 4 dead and haven't played it online yet, but it feels too much like half life.. any good?

Re: Island of Rage Episode 5

i never got to play the shadowrun game that came out fairly recently but i didn't hear anything good. more slapping a retro name on a half-assed game instead of coming up with real, original IPs. is dawn of war any good?

Re: Island of Rage Episode 3

well we have very different jobs in the world of retail. you (i'm assuming) work for a national company who probably handles everything from ordering to advertising to display. i work for a single location business where customer satisfaction is literally tantamount to good business. i suppose we both have our shares of competition, but i would assume the main driving force behind video games sales are convenience (as in close to home) and price, so you don't have to be congenial and compassionate whereas i have to be....

i wish i had your job.

Re: Island of Rage Episode 1

well what you're talking about is different, isn't it? i mean using market research to help with advertising and sales/traffic in any sense isn't what you're talking about here. What you're talking about is like what Amazon does, and i agree it can be a little irritating, but it does have its uses. pandora internet radio is great and it basis music to play off of songs or bands you tell it to. i didn't have to purchase anything for them to obtain the information needed to make a guess at what i wanted to hear. my original post was about was in defense of another tactic that i think you originally were talking about of compiling information from sales and leads.

Re: Island of Rage Episode 6

i can't believe you like mercenaries 2.. remember in your earlier cast mentioning returning a gamefly game the same day you got it? yeah.

Re: Island of Rage Episode 5

i think you can rest assured that there will never be a traditional gaming revolution. don't you miss shadowrun? there is a small niche of games that follow the rules as some of these, as i'm sure you're aware, like neverwinter nights 2, or vampire.

Re: Island of Rage Episode 3

you must be a poor retailer on so many levels

Re: Island of Rage Episode 1

oh yeah, you called yourself danielle at the end

Re: Island of Rage Episode 1

nice first cast, dan.

anyway, i wanted to play the devil's advocate here for something you mentioned: marketing and tracking purchases. marketing is my job, and tracking purchases is a very important tool to me, as you learn buying behavior, customer trends, and more importantly, which customers to market to. when you go out and buy a ps3 game, sony (or any retailer) isn't (or shouldn't be) recording your credit card number and keeping a log of your purchases; that's illegal. what sony is, or should be doing, is using what information they can glean from distribution and supply and demand to further increase revenue. it's up to the retailer to track purchases of individual customers for a variety of reasons. as a niche retailer, recording purchases and learning buyer habits is what is necessary to alter buyer behavior, which is ultimately the final goal. any retailer is doing themselves and their customers a disservice by not tracking purchases.
