I have been through these waves so many times before that I lost count already. My body is wracked with all kinds of sicknesses that I have been through the shadows (portals) of death so many times, and there was a time when I almost ended up my life because of the excruciating pain from my lower back brought about by extreme scoliosis. But I survived them all and learned to surrender my life to Jesus Christ. My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." "Own understanding" for me are my mind, my senses and everything that is happening to my life. I surrendered them all to God and take each day of my life as God's amazing grace and gift to me. I wake up every morning thanking the Lord for the grace of life and have taken as the purpose of my life the following verses: 1) "To live in order to please God" (1Thessalonians 4:1) and "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1Corinthians 10:31) I do not write this to glorify myself but to give comfort to those who are overwhelmed by life's challenges and trials. The more we suffer, the more we know God intimately and the more we can be use as channels of God's blessings. We must view these sufferings as stepping stones to God's kingdom and glory. Why not surrender your mind to God and make Him clean all the litters and cobwebbs there? You can start by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior and surendering your life to Him. 1Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your anieties to Him for He cares for you." Let your battles be God's battles. If you do this, you will surely reach the end of your dark tunnel and will witness the dawning of a new light in your life. Thanks for the post.
