I am incredibly grateful to you for sharing this post, and it made me cry. The last few days have taught me that when we are brave and share our vulnerabilities, we become stronger than ever. I am so proud of you for doing it. We have to stop the self-hate. Our bodies are not the things others see about us. Beauty and dignity are not skin deep. Our lovers, husbands, wives, family adore us for who we are, not what we look like. Yet so often, all we think of is that body-conscious all pervasive thinking that holds us in a depressed state. If only we could see and love ourselves the way those who love us do, I believe it would release us from that depressive state. I think through this post, you're starting to do that. Hugs!

Must have... Santa Pig (when it goes on clearance after Christmas :)) And I have those gloves (got them at Dollar Tree actually) and they really work, sometimes. Other times I just look like a mad woman pushing hard on her phone. Happy holidays, and birthday too!

Hey, you lost 1.8 pounds? Lady, that's amazing. That's a really big loss! You are too kind - thank you for the rec - we are traveling this path together, and it's about more than just the scales - it's about never having to put talcum powder between your thighs in summer ever again. Thank you for this critique. You are on completely correct. I would add one more thing - please also note the blaming of the victim's mother in this story as well. The whole "Where was her mother?" angle is yet another way women and girls are continuing to be blamed for crimes such as these.

Um this is advertising. Don't fool yourself it's anything other than Sears buying your credibility. Which of course will end up with you having next to no social capital at the end of it. No negative reviews? They want to 'check' your review before you post it? Advertising. That's not 'working with' you, it's buying you.
That said, they are perfectly right in saying lots of people want to be bought, and I don't blame them at all for making the most of that opportunity. It's business.

I am proud to call Kia a friend and love her honesty - and I really love her optimism. There's no "wondering if" she can breastfeed. Instead there's a faith and belief that it will work, but an understanding that sometimes it doesn't work out. She also embraces the bigger picture of what it all means. What a fantastic guest post. I almost want her to be pregnant forever, because she is such an amazing role model for others. (Sorry Kia!) :)

I had no idea this was going on and I truly feel sorry that a presentation with real value, that needs to be openly presented was not included. I'd be more than happy to sit down with you and look at your presentation, the issues you would like it to raise, and offer any tips or advice that might make the topic more palatable. Eg: While my presentation's point was obvious as the presentation evolved, that point wasn't the focus. Perhaps there are greater issues in play for you than the topic of 'circumcision', just as my presentation focused on mainstream media and its obsession with breasts rather than simply breastfeeding. Perhaps your presentation reflects a greater societal issue than purely mutilating penises :)
In any case, this can be seen as purely a speed bump. Ignite 6 will be even better than any before it, and I'm sure the Boulder Theatre will sell out again. Let's have a coffee, and see what you can turn this into that gets a green light from the powers that be!
