It also has QR code generation with some nice features:

qr codes are generated from shortened urls so they don't need as many data points

they have a little bookmarklet which makes it easy to generate a qr code of the page you are browsing

and my favourite

QR Code Redirection Service - you create a qr code which you can change the redirection on. That is to create a twitter list from users who use a specific hashtag. Attending more and more events which use hashtags to organise the backchannel it's useful to have a temporary list or users who you can follow to get the community buzz.

Not finding another service to do this I created a Google Spreadsheet which is able to authenticate with Twitter and use the Twitter Search to populate a list of users using a specified search term.

Added bonus as it's a public Google Spreadsheet anyone else can make a copy of it and start populating their own lists (no beta invitation required) more details here http://www.rsc-ne-scotland.org.uk/mashe/2010/11/auto-twitter-list/

Re: Twitter Kills the API Whitelist: What it Means for Developers & Innovation

I've started developing scripts for Google Spreadsheets (eg http://www.rsc-ne-scotland.....

Going this way appears to means, that for now, you automatically get whitelisted (I guess piggybacking the Google domain).

Here's a screenshot of the API response from Twitter showing I've got a quota of 20,000 requests http://yfrog.com/h4prlbxj )

Re: How Recent Changes to Twitter's Terms of Service Might Hurt Academic Research

It's time for guerilla tactics. The Spreadsheet API allows you to create spreadsheets on demand for other users. One of the issues I faced with this technique was that programmes with a well developed hashtag community flooded the timeline with comments making it very hard to see what was going on e.g. at the last UK general elections the televised leaders debates were generating around 30 tweets a second.

So it will be interesting to see if TweePlayer has any curation tools that let you filter out some of the noise (for the leaders debate filtered the list based on MP and candidate tweets http://www.rsc-ne-scotland....

It will be interesting to see if any PR companies pick up on this idea. Who want's to see what people think of a programme when you've potentially got a global focus group commenting on the ad breaks. It would be a very powerful way to present to clients, the clip of the advert with what was said (and you could chuck some sentiment analysis in there as well ;)

[PS I should have said so 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... ;)]

Re: HOW TO: Play Recorded Twitter Conversations In Sync With Your Favorite Shows

That'll be the 'morphic resonance' again ;)

Re: NEWSTOEBOOK.COM - Feedback and Support

I think what Bcline is saying is he's like a permalink to a epub/mobi version of his rss feed which is refreshed automatically when content is added. Well that's the feature I'd really like ;)

Re: NEWSTOEBOOK.COM - Feedback and Support

They are great but as a site owner it's too many steps for my users to get epub/kindle versions of my rss feed.

What I think you need is a widget which sit owners can configure then drop on their blog which directly links to fresh downloadable versions of the epub/kindle versions of their feed
