I'm in my usual contrarian mode - but I'll bet you ten times more people found out about/learned about the puff from the lowest-rated TV station in the market than found out about it on Twitter.

What's the reach of Twitter in PDX. 5% of adults. 10%? Let's go crazy and say it's 20%. That PALES in comparison to the reach of any of the TV stations or even the newspaper in the market.

Was the story big on Twitter? Yes. Is Twitter a force? Sure. But to make it sound like most folks got their info from Twitter is overselling it a bit.

Re: NBC launching Boston site that will compete with affiliate

Do some internic.net searches on NBCXCity.com and I think you may (or may not) be surprised.

Re: MSNBC Touts Yearly Demo Win Over CNN - TVNewser

You realize that's not the right MSNBC logo... right?

Re: Lost Remote: Local Online News, Advertising, Hyperlocal and Neighborhood Blogs

So you'll have a pocket full of cash and no users? In the last 3-5 days, the signal has improved a little bit. There's a pocket in the Boise Valley and Downtown area that makes the station sound bad. Both of those transmitters (99.1 and 100.7) just LOCK outside of the greater Boise area, once you get out of "the valley" near the River. I was in Kuna and heard it 99.1 loud as day with very little interference.

http://player.streamtheworl...

Re: KQLZ launch audio & other notes

Busted if Writing From Work said: Jerr...Bob is a train wreck and it works! Kevin and Bean will take some getting used to...but the board work was tight...that helps a ton.

As for the signal in buildings...I've said that many times here on the board...Don says he can not get it at KTVB...I could not get it at 15th and Bannock...but the post office down by the greenbelt gets it fine..

Re: KQLZ launch audio & other notes

Jerr said: I wish them well, but I don’t see much from this station for two reasons.

1. The stick:
It is a terrible signal. Yes, you can get it in your car just fine, but you can’t listen in a work environment inside. I listened to the Music Monster and felt it played better music than then the competition in Boise, but how did that work out? Until you can listen to the station in a brick building downtown, I don’t see numbers.

2. The tag line:
If it is going to be alternative, play alternative. If it is going to be modern rock, call it that. Even I like a wide variety of music, but I don’t see how Bush and Coldplay fit together and how they are alternative. New Radicals “Don’t Give Up”, REM, U2 “Pride”, and “When You’re Strange” (was that the Doors’ version?) are alternative and go with Alice in Chains, Nirvana, and Green Day? The station sounds like a train wreck at times, but everyone loves a good train wreck and I may be wrong.

Re: KQLZ launch audio & other notes

Jeremy said: Hey, is there a website or stream for this station?
