As for this point - "when advertising on a site as mainstream as ESPN, the ads will be disregarded by those with no interest in social networking" - I wonder: would they? What about people who click over to &lt;a href="http://facebook.com/vitaminwater" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" title="facebook.com/vitaminwater"&gt;facebook.com/vitaminwater&lt;/a&gt; out of curiosity and can see videos, photos and even wall comments without logging in?
