The legacy id cards were developed when there was no computers or internet. If you see the current birth or death or any other kind of certificates that are issued in kerala, everything is to be downloaded online. There is no seal of anything required, to vertify if its original the concerned party can just punchin the number on egov website and check, the same is the case the with all rtro related documents, you have to download everything online.. there is no such thing as original. (one of the first state to be 100% curved under egovernance)

All future id cards have to be linked there is no other way to make sure that an id is original. Anyone with a color printer and a lamination machine can print id cards.

The authority can just punchin the aadhar number and access the details to verify the identity if they want (if they are provided the authority). Any document can be forged, biometrics is for authenticating a transaction.. to just verify there is no need to go through biometrics..

You have an adhaar card no? there is a number on that.. irrespective of whether there is internet connection or an authentication machine its your identity card.. Your passport is also same your name address and number just like an adhaar card. What makes your passport real is the data stored on the machine, your passport is also another number
