I love Cygwin; I think Windows is virtually unusable without it.

Heh. I used to declaim my love of EDT, but those memories have fallen off the bottom of the stack. Wasn't the northwesternmost key on the number pad the Gold key?

Nevertheless, laptops used in numpad mode are not actually in the least useful. I'm a huge fan of the number pad, but the non-rectilinear QWERTY layout simply doesn't work for the numpad arrangement.
