Trulia is in a cyclically slow period of consumers seeking a home. The "ad wars" is one way to defend eyeballs from leaving and going to competitors like Zillow. At work (we buy homes for those that can't get a mortgage) we're seeing a sharp drop-off in consumer interest in finding a new home. That's ticking up now. I believe in February (now) Trulia's and Zillow's visits will tick up and become strong again as we revert back towards Summer (warmer weather) activity.

Great post, Darren. Tomorrow (Thurs.) I'm looking to start a weekly SPX vertical trade. Sell the 10 delta put and buy one strike lower. Won't enter the trade if I can't get 5% return on risk. Max loss is 20% of risk.

Improve the screen real estate. The watchlists have large text and are not collapsable, which makes reading the stream hard. Only 2-3 messages show up. I'd like to not have to scroll so much. I would also like to be able to choose a stream to read: "all" "home" "suggested" etc. Thanks.

Agree with your post. Well said. Being right is one thing. Being right too early can result in drawdowns and "full tilt trading" as the trader continues to re-enter trades too early.

The first time I learn a new trade (or T.A. skill) I will paper trade to ensure that I have covered important areas. I'd rather not be surprised by a trade because I missed something.

For example, trading a skinny butterfly using options as presented by Seth Freudberg from SMB Captial. I built this spreadsheet (see http://bit.ly/oFRxpM) and I am paper trading the SPX to gain experience rolling the trade. I'll paper trade it once or twice to build confidence that I have the mechanics of the trade plan down pat.

Awesome story, Kid. My wife and I went to Hawaii to snorkel and we both got sick. Interestingly, I had to be in the water to keep from chumming the seas. My wife puked in the water and all the fish came to eat it. People got excited to see all the fish and started swimming through her puke. It was hilarious.

On stocktwits.com, I would like to be able to toggle the "Suggested Stream" on or off so that it is included in my "Home" stream. I do not follow all of the Suggested users, but there are times when I would want them to all be included in my Home stream.

Missing out on the "big ones" is helpful, in my opinion. It improves your filters for the future big ones -- and the not so big. You're a smart guy, don't be too discouraged.

In 2007, I was moments away from starting my own Stock/Twitter site, but then I saw you and Soren chatting on a Tumblr blog and now. Also, some dude with a fish avatar from Disney's "The Little Mermaid" caught my attention. :)
