+1 for Namecheap. Used multiple providers in my life (1&1 is terrible IMO) and they are easily my favorite. I've got 100+ domains with them.

Also, they really have 0 up-selling. Instead they give you freebies! (Free SSL certs and Private WHOIS)

My main desktop is a Hackintosh (a few years old now, Core2Quad, 4GB RAM, nVidia 9 series) and i love it. Gives me the ability to upgrade, hack and mod to my hearts content.

The only thing you need to be aware of is the learning curve. There is a lot that can go wrong and a lot you need to learn to get a smooth system together.

Ugh. i want one... The only problem is that their won't be a reasonable 3G contract. It's going to be 3 years and at least $30/month for 6 gigs like the iPhone has. Who owns a mini netbook for 3 years? It seems to me like something i'd have for one year and then upgrade

I personally use Flow

but it has some issues. So whenever it dies and i need to get something done i switch to Filezilla.

MobileMe looks pretty good, definitely a lot better then the current .Mac. We'll see how it actually turns out though.

Theres a mac app called Facebook Sync but Facebook shut it down because it violated their TOS. It just takes all your Facebook contacts and adds them to address book. Lucky for you, i've still got an old copy and it still works! Email me and i'll send a copy your way
