Do we agree to the EU Safe Harbour Agreement for one.We can not be a global leader in education if we do not allow our students to use US based cloud services! Google being the first and foremost.

Re: Jersey IS Fintech. It could do that, but to do so would have to give up a lot -- healthcare & education, probably, for example.

Re: Jersey IS Fintech. But I agree with MR that there is certainly a contingent that appears to believe that it's possible for Jersey to wind the clock back. I haven't been to any hustings this year and I've only had one leaflet through my door so far so I can't name names, though. As with all things, my view is that there needs to be balance -- relying entirely on finance would be an enormous mistake, as 2007-09 period demonstrated; Jersey could make more of its high-end tourism business but that too is cyclical. Farming & fishing create the environment we all love in the Island so I would not want to see them disappear. Tech is a great fit because tech people are often keen on sports & outdoor lifestyle and the business is not necessarily pro-cyclical with finance. I guess what's important here is diversification.
