lately we've been trying to have whole meals on the grill, so that the oven doesn't make that half of our house unbearably hot for the rest of the night. for instance, we grilled chicken, wrapped new potatoes in tin foil, wrapped zucchini and onions in tin foil, and wrapped mushrooms in tin foil and grilled all of it. amazingly good.
you can also just take a kabob and stab it through a long row of okra, sprinkle them with seasoning of some sort, and grill them up. good that way too.

i guess this falls into the "among other things" category... i have no idea why your okra was so huge.

Hey Mike. Thanks for commenting! This would be a really great discussion we should have sometime. That's why I posted about it to begin with... because it's such a complex and interesting issue that the film addresses.

I think in an ideal world, it would be great to have a true "department of correction" instead of our prisons, where people are simply punished and pushed into an even darker state of humanity. However, I think what you said was true... we will always have murderers, rapists, and criminals. I disagree with you though, and think that the system, while not doing anything better for those people, was doing a lot of good for the potential victims of those people. How many peoples lives were spared by those cops, not to mention the peace of mind that all the other citizens of the community enjoyed.

Also, I think that it really would prevent some of those potential murderers and criminals from living that kind of life and ending up in prison. There were still spontaneous acts of violence from anger, jealously, etc. But premeditated acts were being eliminated because people knew they couldn't get away with it.

You are right that the system was flawed. One man, the man who developed it, almost got away with tricking the system. But if that is the one flaw, then correct it, and move on. Like I said before, I think overall that sacrifice, and the sacrifice of the prophets, was worth the widespread benefits of the system.

I'll check out the link when i have some time. I'm in the midst of a barrage of papers i have due in a couple of days.

Starbucks is good for a lot of things. In all truth, those small local coffee shops probably wouldn't exist if not for Starbucks creating that market decades ago. I could go on, but not here.

I'm guessing that a little bit more money would stay in the community (ie. buying from local bakeries), but mostly it would be the same thing.

i definitely remember that. we kept it a secret from kyle so that he wouldn't feel bad, cuz he'd given up fast food for the year. it was so freakin' good at that point in our trip.
so kyle visits me all the time...
