I find it interesting how people seem to object to individuals filming/photographing in public places, but we all seem to be becoming virtually blind to CCTV in general.

Whether this is as a result of familiarity, sheer volume of cameras, or the fact that there isn't a face attached to the camera (or even some combination of the above), if devices like the Autographer make people question and re-evaluate just what privacy they do and don't have, then it's definitely a positive in my book. Which is good, because in a panopticon style future where we are all live streaming all the things, negatives might be frowned upon ;-)

Of course, in five years time when everybody is wearing such devices, the chances are that we will be in the same ambivalent state we are now with CCTV.

Re: Fritz!Box 7390 O2 Broadband UK Connection Settings

Hi Aun,
I don't recall putting anything specific into the DHCP host name box, and checking my web interface just now I can see that it says "fritz.fonwlan.box", which I would assume is something that the box auto-filled. As far as I'm aware, it shouldn't matter what goes in that box for O2.

Re: Should King’s Cross Have An Apostrophe?

Or we could get rid of the argument about the apostrophe, and revert the name of the area to Battlebridge ;-)

Re: Fritz!Box 7390 O2 Broadband UK Connection Settings

Hi Lain,

I'm currently on Annex A, as I am about as far away as it's possible to be from my exchange. O2 actually contacted me after a couple of weeks and told me my speeds weren't high enough, so they were going to drop me down to the ADSL billing instead of ADSL2, which was rather nice of them. My sync speeds are currently 7.2Mbps down, and 1.0Mbps up.

As for IPv6, I tend to get the telephone/email equivalent of a blank face whenever I ask about that, so I'm currently running a Hurricane Electric tunnel (from tunnelbroker.net ), which so far works fine for me - that's set up as a 6 in 4 endpoint on the Fritz!box, and is probably something I should add to this post, ready for the day I tweak it too far.

Re: TwitApps shutting down

Sad news, but awesome that you're releasing the source code - will the partially completed V2 also be released?

Many thanks for the service over the past however many months, and I guess the source code being released is probably the final push for me to get off my behind and start learning git ;-)
