i was gonna say, i read the "chapter 0" of berserk and, like this proto-chapter, it was rough but the important elements were still there, then shape into a fuller story.

the style here wasn't too bad, though, but damn, Isayama sure loved his speed lines..

when asked if she would be in despair, eri thought about it, but then realized something both needed; an ending.

im sure this oneshot drew quite a few inspirations (like how the protag mentions) but its much like The Cat That Lived a Million Times by Yoko Sano when they discover once they found what they were looking for that it was time to die/make peace.

I watched quite a few chanbara films before I was made aware of this game. Once I learned about it I bought it on a whim and after completing the story, I'm looking forward to going through it again in Kurosawa mode. The passion and effort put into Ghost of Tsushima is inspiring and greatly appreciated.

you're forgetting that japanese produce these anime series for one audience and one only: the japanese.
the international market is an afterthought - if given a thought at all.
also, i wouldn't want a japanese company to buy out something like crunchyroll for much the same reason. an american company understands its american audience. the japanese salarymen will find some way to take a very profitable business model and slam it into the red.

there was at least one streaming service by a japanese for an international audience. it didn't last 5 years.

Thank you for actually understanding Japan in this topic.

If the author of this article looked into who actually produces anime (entertainment in general) and control's where it goes and the price for international distribution, he'd see it's not the hip designers that create actual media. You said it perfectly: "...stubborn, narrow minded rich elite."
