Yes, of course -- using the cleaner may create a different outcome. We just chose the oil blend because it was easy to use and we wanted to find out how the oil itself worked. :)

Re: Thieves Essential Oil Better Than Bleach And Lysol

Hi, Laura! So much fun! Here's the link to the kit we purchased. It tells you exactly what was in it. For our purposes, it seemed to have everything we needed in it. https://www.homesciencetool...

Have fun with the experiment and come back and let me know how it went!

Re: Thieves Essential Oil Better Than Bleach And Lysol

Hi! Of course - you have my permission, and I'm flattered that you would want to use it. :)

It was fun and enlightening! If you do it with your students, come back and let me know.

Wishing you the best!

Re: Thieves Essential Oil Better Than Bleach And Lysol

Hey, Emily!

The blotter paper (or "blotting" paper?) was like a heavy, white tissue paper. I recall that we cut it into squares, about 1 inch x 1 inch.

Maybe this will help you. We actually ordered this kit of supplies but then did our own experimenting with the oil and cleaners, etc. But the blotter paper was included in the kit. The kit was very handy since we didn't have to purchase everything separately. http://www.hometrainingtool...

Hope that helps! :)

Re: Thieves Essential Oil Better Than Bleach And Lysol

Hi!

Yes -- that's right. Although I'm not the one who did the agar part. I don't think it was powder but was more like a thick liquid. But at any rate, we created the agar petri dishes and they had to sit for awhile (can't remember how long exactly?). Then we used the swabs to swab the dirty surface and then swiped it onto the petri dishes. Then we proceeded with the blotter papers as described above. :)

Hope you have a great experiment!

Re: Spring Fashion Bash: Girl Power

Well ... too much fun! I really enjoyed this podcast. Question for you: when you resurrect the "dead" posts, will you then delete them when they were originally published? Or will you tweak them so much that having 2 versions of the same post will be fine and not affect SEO? Hope that makes sense. :) Thanks!

Re: Engine 2 Phoenix Award – Shane

Shane, I loved reading your story! Totally speaks to me. :)

I love the idea of juggling for a little while vs. never picking up the balls. I think I'm such a perfectionist at heart that if I decide I can't do it ALL at one time PERFECTLY, then I'm better off not doing anything at all. Very self-defeating.

(Stopping in from Promo Wednesday at Equipping Christian Women in Business).

Blessings!

Re: Allison Flexer on Truth, Lies and the Single Woman {Podcast Episode #68}

Thanks, Tammy, for this podcast! I'll have to hunt that down.

And I know what you mean by using (or not using) white sugar. I've been using Stevia and my family has not even noticed the difference! This summer I'm also growing my own Stevia plant! Thanks for stopping by. :) I'm so excited to meet new people interested in essential oils.

The brand I use and recommend is Young Living. I am a YL distributor. I have written quite a bit lately here about our experience with them.

Would you like a Young Living oil sample? I'd love to send you a free one. Email me your mailing address and I'll send you one to try. :) mary@writingmomof3.com.

Thanks for stopping in!

Re: 5 Reasons I Love Essential Oils

Oh, Katie, thanks so much! I had heard a little bit about them last year. Then -- wow! all of a sudden they are everywhere! What's interesting to me is that they are prehistoric.
