I've been doing a lot, a TON of research on it, and the refined, white sugar that is in the processed foods we eat is horrible for you. Our table sugar is not natural sugar and has negative nutritional value...in other words it is worse than having no nutritional value. It can actually cause things like fibro, kidney disease, liver disease, and so much more. Try limiting your sugar intake to 15 or 20 grams a day. And avoid "white" foods because they contain "enriched flour". Oh geez. I could go on and on. I know, I sound like a book...or like I've been there before....oh wait, I have! LOL. I am addicted to food too. I wrote a post about it a while back. But, truly, I still think about it, center my social life around it, and LOVE it!!!! And though I'm doing pretty good at sticking to a plan, how I think about food still hasn't changed all that much. I am working on that aspect of it though. So, Angel, my Angel, you've taken the first step at recognizing your addiction, now you need to take the next step and figure out why you're addicted to food. Why is food so good to you, why do you turn to it for comfort and fun? Really pray about it and ask God to reveal these things to you. I would like to encourage you to start coming to Celebrate Recovery on Monday's and Friday's. I'd like to eventually begin a food addiction step study. Believe me, you are not the only one who has this addiction!!!&lt;br&gt;I love you Angel!!! I wish I had the answers but I don't. Try thinking of as if you're going to be weighing in in front of your community. I know that helps me to stay on track through the week. I can't stand the thought of weighing in and having a gain. If that doesn't work for you, perhaps making it a challenge for yourself will motivate you. You're great at challenging other in their business, what's a good way you could challenge yourself? Perhaps setting mini goals each week for yourself. Challenge yourself to lose 1 pound this week or to exercise 3 times..whatever will get you back on track and motivated. :) I'll try to think of other ways to challenge yourself and come back and comment if I do. I've been doing their online program which isn't as expensive, but still. I'm paid through April 17, so in the mean time I'm checking out Jillian Micheal's online program, which I really like. She has lots of trackers like a food log, a fitness log, a personal thoughts blog, and much more. Her program helps determine which food plan is best by how your body naturally metabolizes food (slow, medium or fast) as well as lots of recipes, a shopping list and so much more. I really like it. A friend of mine is doing Body for Life too and really likes it. I am going to check it out. It is getting easier each day. Today I only had to stop during the pushups...but I did almost all of them, where before I couldn't even do like 1. I still have to do them the cheater way (on my knees) but at least I'm doing them. Ha. The first two days I couldn't finish the arm raises with the squats. I could finish the squats, but not the arm raising part with the weights. Today I did though :) I still had to stop jumping during the final jumping jacks and jump ropes. I kept my arms moving though. LOL. So, it is getting easier each day. I really do like her workout though! I feel it gives me the best results! I have a schedule, and I use Google calendar which sends me email reminders 15 minutes in advance and 1 minute. I, however, do not stick to it 100% of the time. I figure since I'm a work at home mom, that I don't have to be tied to a schedule, and that life does happen, and that part of the reason I chose to work from home is so I could be flexible when my family needs me or when a ministry opportunity arises at church. So, yes, I have a schedule, but it is very flexible.
