But she now accuses me of, how can I say, giving
her a medical condition (I will say no more!) and to all my attempts to get
back the remainder (about £5,000) she
goes on about how I have destroyed her life and caused her immense suffering.

We have communicated by email and I have made a point of
being continually understanding, extremely patient and polite. I have been
"negotiating" with her for many months now, I won’t go into all the
many details, but along the way I suggested paying it back over several months
- refused, paying it back this year - refused, then she said she could pay back
£200 a month so I prepared a formal agreement document with a repayment schedule,
paying on the 1st every month lasting to 2023 which she accepted, by email.
Then she said she wanted to pay on another date so I changed the agreement, but
then for some reason she had another of her outbursts (some of her emails have
to be seen to be believed, she often includes graphic pictures of her body with
supposedly bad effects "caused" by me). So now she is saying she has
gone to the citizens advice bureau and told me it is going to be a "big
case". I have talked to several solicitors about her claims against me and
they doubt very much she has any valid case against me, and especially as she hasn’t
initiated any action since this allegedly took place back in January, but if I
am honest she has succeeded in making me a bit anxious because of this (her
constant emails accusing me of such awful effects on her life have given me a
lot of mental distress, it seems like she is using this as a sort of inferred
emotional blackmail to get out of the loan). I also desperately do need that money;
I am a retired person on a pension and I need to move home soon and I need that
money - I can (reluctantly) take out a mortgage to cover the shortfall but I
need her guaranteed repayments to then cover that.

She has repeated many times she intends to fully honour this
outstanding amount, which I have in her emails, and despite her many character
aspects I do believe she is basically someone who tries to do the right thing,
she has just got it all mixed up in her mind with this other issue of how I
have "wronged “her. (In all my dealings
I have stuck firmly to only talking specifically about the loan at all times,
whilst also always being very considerate and concerned about her health)

Any advice welcome, first of all can she link the 2 issues?
can she avoid repaying my loan by linking it to the other issue as a sort of
excuse for not paying it? I wonder if I have been too softly softly with her? I
am aware of the online small claims court process but I have refrained from
that because I know she would react in an extremely emotional and unpredictable
way and probably set her off about the other issue. Thank you for listening

Re: Using Truecrypt to Encrypt Your Entire Hard Drive

Hmm thought that was probably the case, but thanks for the quick reply. So the only answer is to encrypt the whole drive, using the Truecrypt volume option? - that option allows you to encrypt a whole drive, with existing data, from what I've read? Sorry being a bit ignorant about this but only started using it recently and just used the file container so far.
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Using Truecrypt to Encrypt Your Entire Hard Drive

Hi just found this through a search, I've been using Truecrypt file containers, I'd now like to put a whole load of data into a new file container but the drive is nearly full - can Truecrypt create a new file container that takes it over the size of the drive and then I move all the files into it? E.g. my drive is 500Gb and its got 400 GB already on it, so can I create a Truecrypt file container of 400GB (making it theoretically 800 GB now on the 500 GB drive) and then move the 400 gb into it??
hope i've explained it and sorry if its a stupid question! (don't want to use Truecrypt to encrypt the whole drive and there's other stuff i want to leaver as it is there)
Many thanks in advance
