No, definitely not bitter but clearly they are emphasizing the stealing aspect and not the overall message, which is the Godard "it's not where you take ideas from, it's where you take it to" quote. I don't see the innovation or cleverness in using a quote about filmmaking and appropriating it to push your fashion brand. Plus they remove the attribution from who the quote is actually from.

I mean I get it. It's punk to steal and appropriate. Supreme is a huge example. But I never sold prints and just released it for free with a Creative Commons license mainly because I am a fan of both filmmakers and given the nature of the quote, it makes sense to release it to the public domain. To remove it out of context and slap your brand name on the quote like they did, kind of diminishes the meaning and I guess that's really my only major complaint.

More power to them though. At least that quote is spreading around. I just hope it doesn't encourage people to steal outright, but rather to find inspiration and to make it your own.

anyone else dig the poetic juxtaposition of this pic with the Kanye polaroid? Ye hangs with Kobe and Mos but Jay rolls with MJ and Oakley. and I guess Swizz Beats and Chris Paul are interchangeable. although I really wish that was R. Kelly instead of Chris Paul.

yeah man, no offense but can you not make these images based on my logo/icon? i designed this as my personal brand and if you are copying it, it sort of defeats the purpose, plus it's literally copying my illustration. i'm flattered you like the particular style and want to make your own variations of it, but i would rather you didn't, and did something of your own instead of basing it off my logo. thanks.
