It is standard operating procedure at banks, investment houses, etc, that VIP account data is locked down to only a few individuals. According to reports on MSNBC, the contractors received a pop up warning message about the privacy of the data, but then they were allowed access. That is absurd -- lock down the data and then record the attempts to access it---then investigate why people are making attempts -- not when breaches actually occur.

So taking out the "move along, nothing to see here" approach, and why this was not investigated or escalated properly, their whole data security structure is FUBAR. The Inspector General does not have jurisdiction over fired contractors. They really screwed the pooch. This is really a kettle of fish. I am trying to think of a third cliche, but I am pooped. On one hand I am not surprised that Eric MacCormack at the State Dept was notified by a reporter but on the other hand I am. They also latched on to Obama's use of "typical white person" (here is NRO's take on it: http://campaignspot.nationa... ) in a response to a call-in show.
I think it is fair game since the Clinton camp apparently tried to dangle Obama's Wright connections over the Superdelegates to make him look unelectable. It really is capricious. I guess they want a circuit breaker in case some nut is ahead and the voters have buyer's remorse.

The other thing that we need to do is adopt shorter election cycles. I sometimes feel drained watching this all play out. It also depresses me to see the Clintons go down this way. It is all in slow motion.

I recognized the Clintons had their faults but I honestly thought they had matured and learned from their past. However, they really have showed that crazy Clinton anger and drama -- which really is not becoming. If she were the nominee, I would still vote for Hillary because I think we will possibly have a Supreme Court vacancy (Heaven forbid for death, but possibly for retirement....after all, Justice Stevens won't retire until a Democrat is president. is elected).

Thank you for listening.

Re: Wash Post catches Hillary outright lying about her trip to Bosnia

I, too, adore the Baby Jane avatar. Last night , I saw a friend who is a Clinton supporter and to my astonishment got very angry with me after I told him that I voted for Obama in the primary. I was somewhat taken aback while also being somewhat amused....but it amazes me that Democrats are not the only ones to drink the Kool Aid. Now I am wondering if they really are inflicting long term damage with their passive agressive games. I hope that is not the case. Now, of course I realize the spin will be the Obama camp is playing the McCarthy card and perhaps the Obama response could be considered a bit dramatic. I have actually received forwarded emails saying the most bizarre claims about Barack Obama from people with presumably average intelligence. These folks truly believe that Obama is the AntiChrist -- and sadly I am not joking or using hyperbole. So, based on their inability to make informed decisions by believing and spreading such tripe, what are we to do about that? I have also encountered folks that say they would vote for someone because they are better looking...and presumably they are of average intelligence. What kind of informed decision making is that? My point is, that Dan is quite capable of using above average reasoning in his decision making compared to other folks of average intelligence.
