The gift that keeps giving. I mean, we will all benefit from Werner's work for the foreseeable future.
It's a great investment.
Werner, you might consider setting up a subscription option in Paypal for those of us inclined to reward you on an ongoing basis.
Cheers.

Re: FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler: How We Will Ensure Net Neutrality

If you think I'm a "leftie" then I think you missed my point.

Re: FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler: How We Will Ensure Net Neutrality

Pretty sure the government (NSA) is the newest and most novel threat to the Internet.
"Meet the new boss ... The Paksense monitoring tags that I spoke about are, in fact, attached to packaging and not consumed. They are used to allow recipients of perishable products that their shipments of products have been properly handled by the shippers.
I personally wouldn't be very enthusiastic about consuming RFID tags along with my food (although I wouldn't be at all surprised to see RFID or NFC devices put into food as nano-technology advances and form factor shrinks to microscopic levels). In any case, I am NOT interested in personally consuming these things.
I also agree that cheerleading a technology for it's own sake is not a good idea. Solving an actual problem is.

Re: The Social Web's Dumbest Ideas

Well, the food thing has a corollary application. There are ways of tracking food and other perishables (flowers, pharmaceuticals) that require traceability of conditions and custody. Cold Chain monitoring is one such application- that is, monitoring temperature and other environmental attributes to insure that the food or other material of interest is not at risk of spoiling because of temperature excursions outside a pre-defined range. See http://www.paksense.com for an example (full disclosure: I'm an investor in this firm).
Traceability applications help to pinpoint problems in the food supply chain. An example would be using a tracking technology to quickly pinpoint the source of a contamination problem like the issue that occurred recently in Germany with the sprouts that made a number of people ill.

Re: SEIU and Acorn affiliated?

Just a quick note on a tool I found handy in grabbing shots of websites like the SEIU one listed above. I use a tool called .iterasi.com
It's a site that lets you grab and "notarize" a copy of web pages so that you can reference them even if they are changed in the future. I found it very useful during campaign season to grab copies of candidates sites and see what changes they made over time to see if they were sticking by their promises or editing out "inconvenient" information.
Iterasi has a free account option, you have to scroll down the "Plans and Pricing" page and look for the "Looking for our free Product?" link.
Cheers.

Re: Jesse 3.0

Jesse,
I'm a huge Bookburro fan.
